Blu top.
DVD bottom.
As usual, ignore the differences in hue.

Not the massive difference that I was hoping for.
Recommendation: upgrade if you've got a gigantic screen. If you don't, then don't bother.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

No idea what is going on there, but the difference is far bigger when I compared my blu Ray with the Superbit and standard German edition.
Pick a scene like the lazer tunnel, or the camera footage when she is walking thru the mansion at the beginning and see how much the difference is, the compession esspecially is not great on the superbit sometimes and the deatil on them scenes I mentioned is very evidently better.
From them snaps it looks like barley no difference at all, very strange. Saying that most people do not own the Superbit even (which has much better compression), just the normal version of the film which is far, far more compressed and a vaster difference. So it does depend on what edition you own, if you own any of the standard versions and not the Superbit the difference is way more obvious.

Yep, cap 1 is a prime example.the compession esspecially is not great on the superbit sometimes
From what I've seen, close-ups are sharper (caps 3 and 6) but wide shots are soft.
I picked two wide shots at random (caps 4 and 5) and they both look crap.
Maybe other scenes might show a bigger difference.

But It does go to show you the Superbit was a vast improvment over the standard dvds with tonnes of extras etc.. as some of them look like crap (the origanal Region 1 version was a compressed mess)
At least the Superbit was pretty good looking at them caps above, no big blocks at all. Its suprising how close the Superbit is to the Blu Ray in all of them caps.
