A 73-year-old Austrian is under arrest on suspicion of hiding his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathering seven children with her, police say.
"They are all in psychological care in a secure institution in a clinic here in this area," he said.
"They are being cared for individually - those between 12 and 16 years of age who grew up with their grandparents, and two boys who, when they came out yesterday with their mother, saw the daylight for the first time in their lives."
The three children who grew up with their grandparents were left at birth outside the house, the first accompanied by a note from Elisabeth in which she said she could not care for the baby herself.
The existence of the woman, believed missing since 1984 and now 42, emerged after a teenage child fell ill and had to be taken to hospital.
"There is not only one, but a number of rooms: one room to sleep in, one to cook, and there are also sanitation facilities," he said.
The floor is uneven and the hallway "very narrow" while the door is "very small", and one has to bend one's head to get through, he added.
"Everything is very, very narrow and the victim herself, the mother of these six or seven children, told us that this was being continually enlarged over the years," Mr Polzer said.
Rosemarie appears to have been unaware of the suspected crimes of her husband.
A 73-year-old Austrian man has confessed to imprisoning his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathering her seven children, police have said.
He said Josef had told investigators that one of their children had died in infancy and that he had taken the body and thrown it into an incinerator in the building.
It's hard to know where to start isn't it. The guy:
1. Locked his daughter up for 24 years
2. Repeatedly raped her
3. Forced her to bear 7 children
4. Literally threw one of them in an incinerator after they died shortly after being born
5. Forced two of the children to never see daylight
6. Didn't educate any of the kids
7. Didn't feed them or the daughter properly
8. Left 3 of the kids by the doorstep with notes forcibly written by the daughter
How did he decide which kids were allowed to live a "semi" normal life and which weren't?
The scary thing is, if one of the daughters hadn't got seriously ill this would've likely carried on. I find it really hard to believe the Mother knew "nothing at all".
I'm not a supporter of the death penalty at all but if there was ever a reason (after conviction) to execute someone this has to be it.
A young female Lodger! who use to live in the house with the sicko family said she saw people go down into the basement once in a while, it was off limits to her she said The old fucker also has used to take other men down with him, so you can only imagine what used to go on down there

Scrable!
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
What the hell is Scrable? Is that some Dutch perversion?
If some creepy old bastard told me to stay away from the cellar I know I'd be suspicious, but apparently it didn't occur to the guy who lodged in the house for TEN FUCKING YEARS that anything was amiss....
1. One lodger saw the father often going into the basement
2. Another heard tapping on the walls
I've thought about this and with that information alone, would it be enough to call the police? The police would need something more than that for a warrant. Sure they could knock on the door but that wouldn't find anything.
