It looks like a solid upgrade. The HD-DVD looks to have all the UE extras.

For anyone wondering my DVD is:

1. Original Non-Anamorphic R1
2. Remastered Anamorphic R1 CE - This one. It's also the current DVD outside North America and outside of North America has DTS too (otherwise the same).
3. Anamorphic R1 Dual Sided UE - A bit more extras than other releases and DTS this time.

Why keep the shitty old non-16:9 job?

I haven't.

Why would I own three DVDs of the same film? Especially when one has rubbish PQ (I used to own it) and the other two have the same PQ. I do also own the HD-DVD too though. If I owned all three DVDs, don't you think they'd be in this comparison?

As you're being pedantic, so will I 8). 16:9 is an aspect ratio, nothing more. It's not another way of saying anamorphic or 16:9 Enhanced.

Here are a few more from the R1 CE SD DVD. I don't know if these problems exist on the HD-DVD:

* 1 frame after capture 1 in the first post. Notice the fleck mark:

Re-read and it sounds like you're saying you own three different editions. Why blame me for your mistake?

I wasn't being pedantic. You just gave a false impression. Is anything ever your fault? And you knew exactly what I meant with '16:9' so stop being a smart arse.
