Makes me smile, people kill people with knives humdreds of million in peoples kitches in UK!, and feet and fists, not samurai swords

You get more time in jail carrying a sword, then rapeing a child

what a world we live in.

I own a few, come and take them from my cold dead hands.

If they want to stop crime, get the criminals! I could name a lot right now, but the police aint interested in that

Of course the police are interested.

The police is made up of lots of different departments fighting different crime sectors. It's not just one big department where the police only do one job at a time.

As to the main article I'm staying well clear of commenting. I see good and bad points of banning them.

Did you click the link? 6 months for the sword thing, a rape can get community service for gods sake! or in most cases let off scott free.

I know many policemen, beleve me quite a few dont give a shit, and dont have any power to get the scum even if you tell them exact details.

I could go into town on a weeked and see many dealers etc.. and the Police see it, they dont do anything at all.

The Police are too busy stopping real crime, like 3000 of them protecting the Olympic torch for gods sake!

and as for banning swords I dont mind the ban, but I do feel they are given a bad rep, how many people have you seen in your life in the street with swords? none i bet. I have seen many with knives, yet people get off scott free carrying them still.

That seems fair: What else would you need a Samurai Sword for?

I only read parts of it.

Apparently only something like 15% of rapes ever result in a conviction but I'd like to see your evidence that says in the UK you can get community service for "rape", are you sure?

As for people on the streets with Swords? surely you aint ever seen that

and I would guess many members have seen, or even carried knives of sorts.

In the end its a silly thing to ban, its not as if you can slide a big sword down your trowsers (unless you have a wee cock maybe). Come down hard on sodding Knives! they still let scum off for carying them killing weapons!

I agree Mark, that seems fair enough to me. Some time ago replica Samurai swords were banned but real Samurai swords were still on sale - huh?
