The thread title says it is £18.50, which puts it over the £18 limit. Therefore, it is not customs safe.

£18.50 delivered it says at the top of this thread, its £15 ($29.99) before postage, no customs risk at all.

Didn't we have this whole debate a while back about how Amazon included the shipping cost in the charge on the packaging? As in, customs took what they put on the packaging as the actual price paid for the items, which in this case puts it over the £18 limit?

Amazon put the shipping charge on the packaging but crucially seperate to the value of the goods.therefore if the goods are under £18 not a problem whatsoever.shipping is counted towards cost when value of the goods itself is over £18.

. The parcel will say what the value of the goods are minus postage and this is what Customs pay attention too.

If I didn't already have these I'd bag this but am staying well clear of their BOGOF deals.

* Warner will soon have all titles on BD.
* Paramount only have a handful of HD-DVDs to re-release so it cannot be that long. The same goes for the independent labels, such as Momentum and Optimum.
* Universal however having thousands or is it hundreds to re-release. Whatever it is they have flipping loads.

I am still hoping I can get a Combo Player too

My point is having taken a hit on hd-dvd universal will want their big guns out quickly, which means the Bourne movies amongst the first re-releases imo.

But why would I want a Blu Ray version when they will cost far more than the HD DVD versions do now

It's less gone than HD-DVD

Considering how much they've put into Blu-ray (especially as a result of two formats) they're not going to kill off BD that quickly. I see DVD remaining the dominant home video format, BD being a niche product and eventually (5+ years) movie downloads becoming popular too, but just like CD it won't replace both DVD or BD.

At first it will only compete with DVD as it's likely to be SD at first * and there will always be a market for a physical product. Collector's just aren't going to move over to a virtual format that quickly, if at all.

* the mass market doesn't care about HD and may never do, they never cared about HD Audio in fact quite the opposite.

You can always buy the blu versions, in 10 years at 4 £ a pop once the format will be old ! (or when better mastered blu versions are released, double dips will come sooner than we think)
