At least I'll finally be able to get this then

I had it on my Wishlist for ages.

Benson's World have a release date of 23 May (2 days after my birthday

) I bet they're not the cheapest though.

I'm sure this will improve on the HK DVD with regard to English subbed extras, and the audio will be fixed.

Don't be so sure this is Tartan. It should be but may not be is all I'm saying. What's wrong with the English subs on IA3? They were fine to me.

I'm waiting now to see if it's worth getting the more expensive UK DVD or the cheaper HK DVD. In the case of IA it is but in the case of IA2 (with that dreadful cover art) I went with the HK DVD.

p.s - I suspect CD WOW will be the cheapest.

I think Grim meant he wanted English subs on the extras.

It's the audio that was boogered on the HK DVD.

This hasn't been through the bbfc yet... I'm not even aware of a theatrical release?

Brad IA1 and 2 were released by Tartan so why wouldnt 3 be?

Unless they lost the rights?

I hope the Tartan release of JSA is the OAR of 2:35:1 (EE disc is cropped to 2:20:1), has a DTS track, a Park Chan-Wook commentary and a proper PAL transfer.

Besides isn't Heroic Duo a HK action film? It would be very odd for Tartan to release an action film.

If you look closely you can see the "12A" on the poster but lower down Play say its an 18...

The soundtrack (according to them) is only 2.0...?

This looks very much like guess work from Play. I see no reason why it will be 18 and also why it will only be DD2.0. I imagine whoever put this on Play wasn't to interested in accuracy as they don't know themselves yet what it will be.

It's just so they can get some pre-orders going.

What do you call Hard Boiled then? Tartan's HB CE is utterly fantastic BTW.

Hmm interesting point but A: It's their only one and B: John Woo has a massive cult following. I just think it's a very weird film for Tartan to release.

That reminds me I ned to get that. It's gone up at CD WOW

. Still £10.99 is pretty good I guess.

This looks better than the R4 mainly for the DTS plus deleted scenes and probably better English subtitled extras (the subs on the "extras" aren't supposed to be to hot). I imagine the Making Of. is the same as the one on the R4.

I'll wait for reviews but I suspect I'll be removing the R4 from the Eastern Eye thread.

Why do people still go on about Tartan improving when most of their releases are NTSC>PAL conversions and not even NTSC>PAL conversions done properly. They've released maybe a small handful of decent but unexceptional discs and that's about it. Their best release is Oldboy and that makes use of the same master as the horrible Korean UE but manages to get cropped a tiny bit and isn't as sharp. And then they follow that with the SFMV cock-up which was NTSC>PAL and was missing most of what the announcements claimed such as improved subtitles (notes are still unsubbed) and a short film.

Forget the R4, it's not progressive and lacks DTS. R3K is still the best.
