How long do you reckon your photos are stored at Boots for?

[bradavon]

I’ve just had some photos processed at Boots and I asked the question “How long are my photos stored on your Server for?”

It’s a question we so rarely think to ask but could have massive consequences. The first two girls didn’t have a clue but the third girl told me if it’s a digital photo it’s deleted in a day (her exact words). How long do you reckon 35mm or APS photos (i.e – the old type) are stored for?

A Whopping 2 YEARS!

There is no reason for them to keep photos this long but clearly they do, and this is just Boots, what about all the others? I for one am pleased I now only take digital photos, but even so historically I’ve had thousands of 35mm photos printed.

When you take photos into Boots your required to give your Surname and Telephone number too. The idea we are in control of our image in the 21st Century is a myth!

p.s - For those who don't know Boots is a big British pharmaceutical store in Britain and the Far East. They also process photographs too.
