R1 Part 1 is progressive, Part 2 is interlaced
R2J is progressive

AV is near identical on both. The R1 part 1 has the slightest bit of cropping compared to the R2J and it's the other way around with part 2. The R2J has the slightest of bitrate advantages but all it does is make the banding slightly more apparent. R1 part 2 may be interlaced but it deinterlaces perfectly so there's no disadvantage.

R1 is the one to have.

Just checked part 1 R2Uk and it's NTSC>PAL.
