Top: Original 2001 DVD transfer (Snapper Case)
Bottom: 2007 Blu-ray/HD-DVD 1080P HD transfer
These BD screen captures were taken by a member on the AVSforum who goes by the name of "House". I matched them with the DVD release.
This Blu-ray would be identical to the HD-DVD as it is the same compression codec used and the bit-rates are 100% the same.
This new transfer is near flawless if not completely. There is a drastic jump in colour and depth between the original DVD and this new HD transfer.
Whites are pure white and black looks completely black instead of being faded. Very impressive digital version of the film. Only downside being a
slight softness which may be because of the film stock used. Nevertheless, an A+ transfer all the way!
