From Beijing with Love: Universe R3HK vs HK Vidéo R2FR

The french DVD is four years late, but better late than never. :)

French DVD top.
Universe DVD bottom.

The french subs are quite accurate, but they don't translate the puns.
The Da Vinci joke is still impossible to understand for a non-cantonese speaker.

Moving on to picture quality:

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

The French DVD wins, though it seems to be missing the blue tint on the last cap.

@Eva:
The Universe disc has an old letterboxed transfer. I just cropped the black bars.

@Mark:
Yes, the blue tint is missing. However, I don't think it has been "removed" as all the other colours are fine (not washed-out).
As it is often the case, the french DVD uses a print that doesn't have any colour filters.

@Grim:
Stephen Chow calls his friend "Man Si" even though he wants to be called "Da Man-Si".
I'm not a native cantonese speaker, but I think "Man Si" means something like "To wipe the shit off your ass".
"Da Man-Si" however is the cantonese pronunciation of Da Vinci.

-Hello, "wash-your-ass".
-Chat, for the last time, call me "Da Vinci".
-Sure thing, "wash-your-ass".

:D
