This release was very unknown, in fact I only found out about it a week or so ago. Fortunately, as with
other Franchise Collections from Universal (Tremors) all the films have been digitally remastered in their
proper widescreen format. This is a first for Twins and Kindergarten Cop. I do not have the original Twins or
Junior discs to compare.
As we can see, Kindergarten Cop has been very well rendered on this new disc. Everything about the
new disc is better than the original except for there is some slight clipping but nothing too bad. Main selling
point is the proper widescreen format.

What's with all the grain though? Even Europe got Twins and Kindergartan Cop in only 4:3, that's super rare.

Personally I think the Arnie comedies are a waste of so much action talent. I remember Twins being fun though.

Why? Unless it's an artistic choice. Celluloid or not they should've attempted to remove it.

The other one looks to be filtered though. The new one looks much more natural.

BIG improvement with the new release.

I've always kinda liked the film, though not sure if I'd buy it.

Shame it's only part of a multipack, I wasn't overly keen on the other two films.

I remember Junior being woeful.

You asked, "what's with all the grain, though?" and you said that you thought that "unless it's an artistic choice...they should've attempted to remove it," but you haven't said why you think they should remove it.

As EvaUnit02 has already said, grain is a natural part of film. Movies shot on film are supposed to have grain. That's the way film looks. I, for one, really appreciate that the new Kindergarten Cop DVD actually looks like a film, as it's supposed to, especially considering the recent trend to filter every movie to have the same bland, homogenized look.

Again, I'm curious to know why you believe they should've attempted to remove the grain.

He's not a fan of grain, that's why

I'm a fan when it has it's place but not it being therefore because the film is old and that's why it has grain.

Why? Because it looks awful. It's there not through any artistic choice or need but because it's an old film which has more grain than it should.

Do you work in film studies? The amount you waffle on about the "technical" aspect, there is an element of something just being aesthetically pleasing too.
