Criterion Picture-Boxing Example:
The Criterion presents the best visual quality. Many instances of dirt and debris have been eliminated providing a much more enjoyable experience. There were many spliced frame errors on the Image disc, as seen above, and many of those have been fixed. There is a strong grain structure featuring more detail. The colour-timing is spot on.
Audio has been cleaned in a very professional way. The Image disc was quite tinny, full of cracks and hiss. Criterion has corrected many of these problems in the audio making this disc an absolute purchase.
The Criterion release, spine # 374, is perfect with improved audio and video. It also features a second disc with the usual array of documentaries on the film and it's creators. There is a 75 page book included in the set. The only problem I have with the Criterion release is the picture-boxing.
