Spider-Man 3 Director's Cut petition
On the Spidey 3 board at IMDB I read about a petition to release a DC/Extended version of Spidey 3, in some ways I really think this movie could do with one, considering how it felt "too long but too short" in my eyes.
Eg some footage that was cut included a subplot involving Sandman and his famly.

Given Spiderman 2.1 has been released it may not be beyond the realms of possibility we could see Spiderman 3.1 or whatever.
I loved Venom, Sandman should have been developed more.

Grim, you should know better. The IMDB forum requires a login and that people like Mark are too fucking lazy to sign up for one. Quote the post next time.
Since it's become obvious that an ample amount of scenes were deleted or reduced from the released version of SM3 including subplots, we've opened up a new petition for a director's cut which I think everyone here should sign and spread word of if possible. It seems that each subsequent day after the release of SM3 we've been discovering more scenes that were cut such as impressive CGI Black Suit Spidey scenes, fight sequences, and a plethora of other footage. It's been said the studio requested that Raimi reduce the runtime of SM3 which makes sense considering the same happened with Superman Returns.
Given some of the negative responses (personally I loved it) the studio may want to do some spin coverage plus there seems to be more footage missing this time around than in the past. Peter Jackson has done it, lets hope Sam does as well. The folks behind the petition for a Donner cut of Superman II were successful in their efforts and considering there is larger fan base with Spider-Man, we just may have a chance.
I'll admit the success rate for fan petitions are few in number and far in between but look at it this way, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We can always be a positive factor in the decision process.

Which was a huge shame IMO as the Sandman part when he meets his daughter (before he actually became Sandman) is the most emotional part in this film.grim_tales wrote:Eg some footage that was cut included a subplot involving Sandman and his famly.

Well, that part had the potential for me, but Sandman was never fleshed out properly, thats why I didnt like his speech at the end. Maybe if Spidey had got to see his daughter for himself...thelostdragon wrote:Which was a huge shame IMO as the Sandman part when he meets his daughter (before he actually became Sandman) is the most emotional part in this film.grim_tales wrote:Eg some footage that was cut included a subplot involving Sandman and his famly.
The ending didnt do it for me, why couldnt he have gottem money for his daughter another way other than stealing?
