he Man With the Hat is Back! For the first time since 1989, Harrison Ford dons the familiar costume on Thursday, June 21, 2007, as the upcoming "Indiana Jones" adventure begins production under the direction of Steven Spielberg. The new "Indiana Jones" movie is set in the 1950s and stars Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and Jim Broadbent. The Lucasfilm Ltd. production will be released by Paramount Pictures worldwide on May 22, 2008. The photo was taken by Spielberg!

I hope that they CGI all the stunt men's faces, cause they'll probably be called upon a lot. It'd be cool if they used some Murtaugh esque one-liners.

Actually, Old Harry looks pretty good there. You could knock about 10 years off. At least they're setting the movie 20 years later and not pretending he's a young man still. That would have been disasterous.

I think Ford has always looked younger than his years (until recently). He looks good in that picture.

Nah it's Shia LaBeouf, 21, good actor, looks set to become the hottest young man in hollywood by this time next year.

He's been keeping his profile up over the last 5 years or so in supporting roles in the likes of I Robot, Constantine, and Bobby. I think his leading roles in films like Holes and the recent drama A Guide to Recognising Your Saints (which he was very good in) probably got the attention of directors and studio bigwigs. This year he's got leading roles in Transformers and the new Dreamworks animation: Surf's Up.

Only one I've seen is 'I, Robot' and I don't know who the guy played. Not that I really care, as long as he isn't one of those annoyingly 'hip' additions to keep teens happy. There are only three acceptable male sidekicks for Indy: one is retired (Sir Sean), one is dead (RIP Denholm) and I've no idea whay the Welshman is up to?

Is it next summer yet? Between this and Dark Knight, next summer's going to be 1989: Part Deux!

Burton's Batman was a good movie

Some of the script was good... especially in the first part of the movie.

But it was rewritten by a second writer.

I still like Batman and Returns, but what've I've said is true. TBH I don't even consider them Batman films, just two more stylish and fantastical Tim Burton movies. They aren't about Batman, they're about outlandish campy villains spouting bad one-liners, which are tied to OOT performances. As much as people hate the Shumacher films, he was just working on the foundation that Burton had already layed.

Burton's films did not bring back the original dark vigilante from Kane's initial run, it was just the queer caped crusader from the Silver Age comics and the 60's TV series trying to act tough. The Dark Knight was revived by the ground breaking Dini/Timm animated series. Mask of the Phantasm is still the best Batman film to date.

To be fair, there's a lot of the original Bob Kane Batman in Burton's first Batman flick. From the design to the way Batman acts...it's all pretty true to form for the early Batman stories.

I still like Burton's films, but they can't compare to Nolan's.

And yeah, Mask of the Phantasm is awesome...equal to Begins for me.

Film's title = Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. Out May 22nd '08 in most territories.

Title's a bit of a mouthful... trying saying it drunk.

My guess is that She-Ra intheBuff plays Indy's son, and Karen Allen is his mother.

I suppose Cate is the NEW love interest and Ray Winstone will be the NEW John Rhys-Davies. Not sure what was wrong the old John Rhys-Davies? He's still alive AFAIK.

Old they maybe but sadly no youngster has managed to eclipse Ford, Willis, Stallone or Schwarzenegger in the action stakes, not even slightly.

Willis in Die Hard 4 or The Rock? It's an easy one IMO.

The trailer makes it look like a terrible CGI-enhanced mess (which it probably is).

Still just like when I heard the Superman theme tune on the big screen in Superman Returns when I heard the Indiana Jones theme tune again it brought me back to my child hood and I loved it.

Lets face it Harrison Ford is such a good actor it's unlikely to be a complete turkey if nothing more.

It's a disaster :

The trailer as CGI erased guns and whatnot in much the same way as E.T. it seems Spielberg is going psychotic and cleaning up the movie he just shot, why didn't he just ask for a different edit of the trailer ?
