The new transfer has resulted in a very crisp, clean transfer without any filtering added. This is a very fine restoration
which has brought back the colours and look of the film. The only issue noticeable is some slight cropping that shouldn't
really be noticeable during viewing.

Good luck. Expect hellava lot of combing. I once tried taking caps of it and while I don't know anything about these things it's definitely more interlaced than most (or something) :D

Definate winner is the remaster, though there appears to be colour changes.

Looks great. I've been waiting for NTSC versions of the remasters for so damn long now; can't wait until the Leone anthology set gets here.

Overall the SE is a clear winner, but there is one big issue: The colour in some day-for-night scenes is not correct in the SE as if they were using negatives that had not been processed. Comparison 9 is a perfect example of this.

Also the old edition shows more image info on all sides of the frame, but some of it (like the left side white edge indicates) might be beyond the projector aperture safe area, so I don't fault the SE for that.

The NTSC version also has the original mono track :)

God damn MGM for only providing the horrible 5.1 soundtracks in PAL, which are pitch corrected as well and sound awful! :angry7:
Mace Windu got thrown out the windu!
