New R1 SE of Ichi the Killer - any reviews yet?

Media Blasters long delayed new SE of Ichi the Killer is finally out. There been any reviews yet? Ta.

I really need to supplement my NZ version (Aussie version is an uncut port-over of old the R1 and is NTSC-PAL), which is a clone of the cut UK disc, Bey Logan commentary and all.

I really hope they used a better transfer - the previous R1s weren't great.

So the NZ disc is cut as well? Bummer... I have the dutch uncut but would love to own an uncut copy with commentaries (from Bey and/or Miike).

John White is covering the release for DVDtimes, just checked the scheduler and he's written the review but must be waiting to proof read it, or edit it or something because he hasn't scheduled it yet. Either way, I'm sure it'll be up on the site soon enough.

Yeah. I'm not too bothered as it only $10 and it does have the Bey commentary. I wasn't expecting that NZ and Aus would get different versions. I emailed the distributor and apparently the uncut version was refused classification, so we got a direct clone of the Premier Asia disc 1.

HAHA Eli Roth in the extras. I couldn't give a damn about the extras, tbh. Just not prepared to spend the $60-70nzd required for the Dutch disc. Good to know that the hillarious English dub with the cockney accents is intact. It felt like watching Lock Stock: Yakuza Edition.

I've only seen half movie and that half was with the dub on, the friend who I was watching it at the time with hates subtitles. Haven't bothered to revisit the film since my copy is cut.

I've only ever seen it on VCD when the film first came out, forget which country it was from now but it was uncut. Couldn't be arsed with getting the Dutch DVD back in the day, so I might get this bloodpack edition.
