One of the most disturbing things I've seen...

by grim_tales
Children's show made by HAMAS (I think).

Jesus Christ.. it's bad enough adults like Captain Hook preaching hate, but when children do it, it is just sickening. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

You're disturbed by that, how is that any different to Christian fundamentalist crap like
this?
You're forgetting, this is the Internet. You have no idea what disturbing means. I DARE you to look up GNAA Last Measure.

Similar idea.. both forms of brainwashing but its the preaching of hate part that is also disturbing

Utterly ironic that they're using Mickey Mouse. Muslims prove once again that they're the definition of hypocrisy.

Well it's not THE Mickey Mouse but the inspiration/rip-off is unmistakeable.
I agree with you (about Hamas), you must have edited your post aftarward.

Sorry Eva, but that is pretty stupid to say, You could say 'Hamas proves once again.....'. Stop labelling everyone
Grim, before you believe everything a newspaper tells you, try searching on the company that provided that bit of video - Memri:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/elsewhere/jou ... 58,00.html
Actually, I will quote some bits:
The reason for Memri's air of secrecy becomes clearer when we look at the people behind it. The co-founder and president of Memri, and the registered owner of its website, is an Israeli called Yigal Carmon.
Mr - or rather, Colonel - Carmon spent 22 years in Israeli military intelligence and later served as counter-terrorism adviser to two Israeli prime ministers, Yitzhak Shamir and Yitzhak Rabin.
http://rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/1511
Others, however, see a darker side to MEMRI's work, arguing that the organization "cherry picks" the items it decides to translate, revealing a clear pro-Israel, neoconservative-inclined bias. A case in point came in mid-June 2006, when discussions over the fate of Iran's nuclear program were reaching fever pitch in Washington. MEMRI held an event on Capitol Hill titled "Must See Iran TV II." The event, cosponsored by then-Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) and Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN), was aimed at raising congressional awareness of Iran's threatening posture toward the United States and its allies in the Middle East. The MEMRI presentation included translated clips from Iranian television that highlighted "themes associated with Iran's nuclear aspirations, its acquisition of offensive weapons, anti-Americanism, and statements by leading Iranian government officials, including President [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad," according to an article in the New York Sun written by MEMRI Executive Director Steven Stalinsky (June 14, 2006).

How MEMRI presents itself
[From the MEMRI website:]
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) explores the Middle East through the region's media. MEMRI bridges the language gap which exists between the West and the Middle East, providing timely translations of Arabic, Persian, and Turkish media, as well as original analysis of political, ideological, intellectual, social, cultural, and religious trends in the Middle East. Founded in February 1998 to inform the debate over U.S. policy in the Middle East, MEMRI is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit, 501 (c)3 organization.
The truth about MEMRI
MEMRI is a main arm of Israeli propaganda. Although widely used in the mainstream media as a source of information on the Arab world, it is as trustworthy as Julius Streicher's Der Sturmer was on the Jewish world.
The evidence
MEMRI recently posted what it alleged was an interview I did with Lebanese television on the Nazi holocaust. The MEMRI posting was designed to prove that I was a Holocaust denier. Below I juxtapose the MEMRI version of my interview (both the actual broadcast version as well as the transcript it prepared) against what I actually said in the interview.
There are loads more, but the simple fact is the MEMRI distorts/mistranslates the language spoken, reedits them

LOL, if this is the sickest thing you have seen, I gotta send this video to Takashi Miike for new inspiration.
Oh, and I'm gonna send him this cartoon, too:

Oh and this, which is actually a very well-made scene. I wonder what movie it is taken from.

Really? I have watched that, but can't remember that scene...
Isn't that the film where the guy and the woman always meet in the car on the border?

Yup that the one, I pretty sure it that film, as that scene is what made me want to watch the film.

I apologise Slasher.

I saw the link somewhere else, watched the clip and read the link/article provided with it, don't you think thats wrong?
That is interesting, MEMRI have also posted their own response to that article.
There must be different ways/interpretations to translate the Arabic right, it must be more complicated than getting out your phrasebook?

grim_tales wrote:There must be different ways/interpretations to translate the Arabic right, it must be more complicated than getting out your phrasebook?

No, actually not. Arabic, especially the Arabic spoken in that TV show is very easy and there is not a lot to interpret. It means almost exactly what the English subtitles say.

So are we're saying it's fake then?
There was a BBC article the other day which talked about a kid cutting the head off an American for giving secrets about the Taliban, or was it Al Quada.
Either way it's scary.

It's always scary seeing kids being indoctrinated with hatred....

Video of jewish kids throwing rocks at palestinian kids, soldiers, and media...

Little pricks. I wouldn't be surprised if any of those Palestinian kids turn out as suicide bombers one day, whose faces are all over the news labelled as terrorists.

This clip shows what Palestinian children endure on their way to school everyday. They are not allowed to cross the barricaded streets that only settlers can use but instead have to use these dirt roads where they are ambushed daily, while settlement police and IDF soldiers provide protection to the whole ordeal.

A comment by the submitter of this video:
Yeah but not the American people, I swear if the Media here shows the crimes that go on in there and the truth behind all the anger in the Middle East, people would jump like their butts are on fire. But their eyes and ears are shut, because look who's running the media. Why would you expect the media elites not to be biased when it's about their people even it they are in the wrong.

Yeah... I mean... it's just sad and sick that a; this kinda stuff is happening to children. Hell, it's sad and sick if it happens to people of any age.
But b; it's so sad and sick that 'our' western media and news and politicians etc etc, all close their eyes and ears to it. They dont even admit it happening.
Something has to be done... but you know there will be nothing done.

As well as myself, But I don't have that much experience with Arabic, Lost Dragon does I believe. Another thing is that the video shows the little girl quite far away as well as the host, so you don't see if they are being dubbed or not.
Its quite possible this is true, but my issue was by the group who had translated it. By the way this news is now on Sky News

If those subtitles are real/translated right LD, are we saying the TV show is fake? Doesnt that strike you as very wrong, what was said in that show? As Yi said, any indoctrination is scary.
Does anyone know of the Israeli/Palestinian version of Sesame Street?

I don't know if that TV show is fake or not. But why would it strike me as wrong?
Grim, what is your opinion about the videos me and Yi posted?
Posted: 11 May 2007, 12:19
by grim_tales
I've seen Yi's video, well that is also wrong, throwing the stones at other children and babies, and that they think that way

Thats the adults fault.
Its interesting to note that the Israeli version of Sesame Street teaches "mutual respect" - not "love" or whatever (according to the Sesame Street Unpaved book I have - I think it is a Israel/Palestine co-production.
The video with the kids TV show would strike me as wrong as if, you say it is translated right, it encourages hatred of Jews and America, disguised as a kids show. Not far off propaganda used by some groups like the Nazis.
If an American kids show did the same thing that would also be very wrong!
I was watching a See Hear progamme and the speaker was talking to the audience about them being "inflicted" with deafness, and how they must never "pass that on to their children, and their grandchildren"
That Jesus camp was scary too, with the Christian right and the kids spouting nonsense about "the leader".

All persecution and religious hatred is wrong regardless of where it comes from.
