Tony Jaa in "Drunken Master 3"!

Post by grim_tales »

Read this over at Tron's forum and thought I'd share it with you, maybe this is the "secret" JC project HKL are on about then (Brad)? :D ;)

Quote:
"M-DMD.com has news that Tony Jaa, the star of "Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior," will play Jackie Chan's student in "Drunken Master 3." Since the article is in Thai, someone on the Unofficial Tony Jaa Board has kindly summarized the gist of the article:

"Tony Jaa, has already had a contact to play the new movie with Jackie Chan in "Drunken Master 3" ( Sia Jiang, Jaa, and Chan have already had a talk about this movie when Jackie came to Thailand many months ago to promote his movie 'The New Police Story.'

In 'Drunken Master 3,' Jackie will be playing the master and Jaa will be playing as Chan's student. This is just a plan, it will take sometimes for Chan and Jaa to have the right schedule to play movie together. At the meantime, Jaa will be studying English more, so he can play the movie with Chan.""

Finally Jackie is making a Drunken Master 3.. hmm, first New Police Story, now this.. is this evidence he wants to forget Hollywood and move back to HK (he seems to be revisiting old classics doesnt he?) :D
I thought there was a Drunken Master 3 (or Return of Drunken Master or something like that). It stars Willie Chi (who played Fong Sai Yuk in Burning Paradise).

There is already a DM3 but it's far from official.

Grim could you make the quoted text bold, italic or something. As it's hard to see when your input starts.

This could be good news but the first two IMO were far from great. Eiither way it's good to see JC ignoring Hollywood for a while. He is making Ruh Hour 3 though.

DM2 is far, far, far better than DM but still not all that IMO.

This is a VERY old rumor, denied some time ago:

Posted by RT-News on Friday, Jan. 07, 2005, 03:13 PM

RT-News writes: "In response to a rumor that he may work with Tony Jaa ("Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior") on "Drunken Master 4," Jackie Chan told the Ming Pao Daily (via translation by Hong Kong Top 10) that even though he liked the idea, the chances they'll work together on that movie is very slim, due to his super busy schedule. So that puts that rumor to rest, at least for the moment.
