Hush, don't say it out loud... but...
Well,
It's the European/Asian print (ie 101 mins)... and... it's 16:9
Unfortunately they only did a SMALL run of discs and sold out very quickly
The HK R3 disc is also 16:9, but is either the shorter version or mastered from a PAL source... I don't know which...

Gojensen do you know what the runtime of the HK DVD is? The UK DVD (longer print) is 95 mins long (PAL).
Surely thats not a "workprint"? I thought the workprint was 2 hours long or something? This is just the European version.
I could ask CD-WOW if they have it, they might know.

The HK (ERA / Universal) DVD is NTSC at 96 mins.
The Korean (Universal) DVD is NTSC at 101 mins.
The US DVD is NTSC at 97 mins.
The Euro/UK DVD is PAL at 95 mins. (approx. 99 mins film).
Neither are workprints - and there are about a dozen of them... I believe there were two different WPs in circulation at one time. The difference between the Euro/Asian version and the US version is approximately 4 minutes, and consists primarily of more "slo-mo", repeats, and action/violence shots.
Now, the HK disc at 96 mins COULD be a PAL mastered NTSC disc from the full cut - though this is uncertain - but the Korean disc is confirmed... As John Woo fanatic (:D) this would be a great addition to my collection.
It's the same as the current Euro release, but anamorphic. But for a nut like me, and given it's extremely limited circulation - it has turned out to be some kind of holy grail...
For the workprint you should look at this thread at imdb.
For the additions in the Euro/Asian cut look at this thread at MichaelDVD.

Sorry if it annoyed you Bradavon....only changed it coz i ONLY used killerj on the old bullets forum....seemed better to return to my usual forum handle...although I DOi have another one too!!!
as for the HARD TARGET workprint, I too used to have it...picture was ok (good VHS) and it WAS far more bloody..especially when they kill the begger at the beginning..FAR more nasty......
Still didnt make it THAT much better...but it DID seem more like a WOO film....

The pictures shit if you want to see the film for the 1st time so dont even bother! get the UK dvd to see the film bacially, then see the crap quality workprint, its on dvd transfered from a poor VHS, but its worth seeing for all the extra bits. The bullets really fly in this cut and people get shot, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again! nice
I paid more than I would have liked to pay for the dvd, but hey I know others will want copies.
