Urgent Help :( Firefox Bookmarks all gone! need em back now.

Post by romerojpg »

Well I just did a system restore and went back a few days to get some drivers I deleted, it went fine.

But tried to go on the net and MY GOD Mozilla Favorites/Bookmarks have all gone! I went back to todays restore point and hell they are still gone

I have a massive amount of Bookmarked sites and web pages and NEED a lot of the recent ones. I have them backed up from many months ago, but need some of the more recent ones desperatly.

What on earth has this happened for? and more importantly is there any way to get them all back?

The stupid thing is all my history still seems to be intact (well up to a week or two back) so if I click GO I get my histry still thats how I got onto this site as I wouldnt know where to start finding all my old sites as some addys are imposible to remember and the passwords are all stored too.

So please help asap, as I am well stuffed.

Don't you have some kind of backup on DVD ?

Anyway... did you do a search for *.url files on your hard-drive ?
Maybe their folder has been moved, not deleted.

Otherwise, you could try to use some kind of data restoration tool, but it might already be too late for that. Sorry.

I wonder who solved it :D

FYI Tom you've never used FF or Netscape have you? :D . URL is an MS thing, it's all in one bookmarks.html file.

And thankfully for Romero backed up by FF automatically nightly.
