Cool, I like the Elite version of Re-Animator, so don't know how Anchor Bay can upstage it. Phantasm may just be a port of the UK special edition, remember the boxset here, they just may rerelease it, so no need to upgrade that ;-)

Mmmmm not sure if I will get excited about Anchor bay anymore :( I used to look forward every month to what was coming, but they have really ran out of great titles to release anymore :( and other companies are buying up the rights to the films they do own, so Anchor Bay may well be no more on HD as hell it hasnt been a great few years for them for great films. For Tai Bo and cartoons maybe, but not for cult films :D

I would buy Reanimator again if its a worthy upgrade, but hell what else can they do? apart from a long documetary to tempt me :D Phantasm is appauling, wouldnt go near that.

hey,

basically another cast commentary for Re-Animator and Gordon joined by Yuzna on his track. Their long, video taped chat on the Millenium Edition seems sufficient to me and the cast won't do more than watch and laugh as per last time. They gotta pull out something reeeeally special to warrant an upgrade.

I guess Anchor Bay may start with HD soon and then have to re-do all their old dvds again, which would be nice.

Still Re Animator I havent watched for a while and will at least listen to the commentaires next time as I listen to them at work now, it passes the time. The new commentary cannot be the only new thing on the dvds, fingers crossed they pull out the stops and get something great for it.

I would like to see Re Animato 2 get a dvd release from anchor Bay, I still dont own that film and barley even remember it as its been so long since I last watched it.

Anchor Bay UK seem to me to have took over as a quality company compared to the USA Anchor Bay company, if anything the UK branch is releasing some cracking films.

Don't really know about Reanimator, Im happy with my Elite version, Phantasm is a good series, if you can rent it all, all of them, then watch them 1 by 1. I didn't really like the 1st one, but 2nd and beyond really got me hooked, love the theme tune now, and love my uk boxset.

Good call on Reanimator 2, maybe Anchor bay should concentrate on producing the ultimate edition of that instead, I would def get that

Ohh Phantasm films just grate on me, all build up and no pay off for me :) so cheap for the films its amazing, I could have got the whole series for 6 quid :) even at that price I passed, maybe when it gets even lower. Thats one good thing about Anchor Bay UK, the price go down so low its staggering!

I am curently waiting for the Masters of Horror set to get low down in price :) thats about all I can htink off thats out that I dont own that I want :D

Ooo yeah, also a boxset I am waiting for. I believe the UK Boxset includes the extras, but the US doesn't. Have you watched any of the episodes? I seen a couple only, pretty good, really want to see Miike Imprint, that is suppose to be really good, but Im don't really want to believe all the hype of it

hey,

Imprint isn't particularly noteworthy. Has shock value yes but I had a hard time connecting to it otherwise. Doesn't help that it's a Japanese cast being "forced" to speak English either.

I havent even seen one episode, want to just get em all then watch them. The UK set has so many extras that its gobsmacking! the actual episodes may not be stunning, but them extras really do sound nice.

Hey Knetan

Thanks for that, yeah there some sites which are praising this episode, so was a bit worried about all the hype would make this a let down..
Ooo that one thing I don't like being 'forced' to speak english to suit an english audience, i had hoped that the J-Horror movement would have shown everyone that any language horror movie (japanese, chinese, thai, indian) can be scary but the sounds and atmosphere

Romeorpg; Yes the extras look very very cool for this, I love to hear what each director input is, that the main reason that I want to get the boxset. Shame that these director had such bit hits/cult in the late 70's and 80's, but not big director in today world.

I'll probably just stick with my Millennium Edition, that release is packed to the gils already.

There's always the R4 of Bride of Re-Animator:- port-over of the majority of extras from the long OOP R1 SE and an anamorphic transfer of the Unrated cut.

ABUK a are good company, when they're not releasing naff NTSC-PAL conversions (like Tartan).

The UK Masters of Horror has all them extras, so really I would prfer that to the Region 1's. As long as I dont pause them I wont tell that they are dodgy conversions, well until I get a new TV that is and they all flickr and stuff :D
