What's considered the best Sean Connery Bond?
As title.
Having recently seen Dr. No and it not being half as good as I remember I want to give another one ago.
I was thinking of:
1. From Russia with Love: Is it as good as they say, story wise?
2. Goldfinger: I hear it's just so much action packed fun, right?
Or maybe another?
It's been so long since I've seen them they've all gelled together.
p.s - The villain in Dr. No is very weak and the story plods along to slowly for my liking but no before anyone says it it's not me expecting something more action packed.

You Only Live Twice. It's been by favourite Bond for 13 years now (I've always wondered if it affected on my Jap fandon, or perhaps the other way round. Note that I was only 7 years old when I first saw it).
Dr. No and Goldfinger are fantastic as well. I haven't seen Russia for a long time, so I can't really say anything about it. I love the theme song, though.

Aren't all the Connery Bonds great? Lot's of folk say GOLDFINGER is THE Bond movie... Personally I have a weak spot for DR. NO (it was the first, and the first I saw) and DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (which I seem to recall hasn't held up so good against the ravages of time...). FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE is a classic though.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Thanks guys YOLT seems to be the winner. I've got a good idea I'll like YOLT and Goldfinger but am intrigued by FRWL. I'll see that next.
Agreed I'm sure they're all good (although I wasn't particularly impressed with Dr. No) but I've really no interest in watching them all.
Just 2-3 of the best (that is all the Bonds).
They're on TV all the time for starters.

Fancy doing my job for me? Then good ideaIronMonkey wrote:Just watch them all then!
I've seen every Bond but like many, all over the years so my memory is very sketchy on which is good/bad.thelostdragon wrote:So Brad, does you say that you have not watched all Bond films so far?

YOLT: It's interesting you guys love YOLT so much many other seems to prefer Goldfinger.
From what I remember of YOLT while having Blofeld it's rather silly. We have Bond disguised as a Japanese person and even a space sequence, IMO Bond and Space has always come across rather stupidly.
It's clear Dr. No and From Russia with Love are very different from the rest.
Why do you guys like YOLT so much? And in particular more so than Goldfinger?
Thunderball & Diamonds are Forever look to be the weakest, right?

Thanks guys.
You guys plus some reviews convinced me I should also get YOLT.
I've FRWL + GF from Sendit.com and YOLT from Asda. That's it for me. I've gone from owning 3 PB Bonds to what will now be 8 in total (the 3 mentioned + the 2 Dalton's).
I watched FRWL: UE last night and the remaster job is excellent. Personally I thought the FRWL DD5.1 remix was restrained and not obtrusive at all. The mono issue doesn't bother me.
I hear Diamonds are Forever is pretty lame but what about Thunderball?
