Overall the Ultimate Edition provides a better viewing experience. Some contrasting boosting can be seen especially in the second
last capture. However, the film is much more vibrant and brighter. Grain has been reduced and it doesn't appear to have been
done through noise reduction tools. Dirt is of course non-existant. Framing has been shifted up and to the left a bit,
this has no affect on composition or on the director's intentions. The original theatrical subtitle have been included.

My god that's loads better.

I'm now wondering if the R1 UE has been remastered further over the UK R2 UE. As the reviews I read comparing the UK R2 SE vs. the UK R2 UE said there's not much difference.

Pity it's only in a sodding box set

Loads better? It's brighter... to the point of loosing detail in the top end... look at the explosion, no detail at all (almost :D) in the flames...

And what's with the pink opening?
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Gojensen is right about the explosion shot, its like all the explosion is just 1 colour in the UE.

Look closer, the UE title screen has a pinkish hue, in the SE its more white.

Oh you mean the second shot? I see now but talk about being pedantic, that's so minor. The UE otherwise looks better.

Not that I'm really bothered the SE DVD is already decent. I'd only get it if I also got TND and GE too.
