International orders will depended on weight and location.
The price will be calculated by the website for you as you go through checkout.
A rough guide is that a single DVD is 110 grams, and packaging for up to 5 DVDs is 90 grams. Pricing to US/UK/Europe for a single DVD will be between AUD$8 and AUD$9.5, and scales up with more/larger items.
International orders are sent by standard airmail, in most cases this is a 2-3 week delivery time after our normal processing period. International courier - we are looking into having more courier mail options made available in future versions of the site.
http://www.madman.com.au/actions/knowle ... =browse#10
To the UK roughly: $19.50/£6.85 or $18.50/£6.50 (WOW!)
There are 44 Australian dollars to £18 meaning you can get 4 and still be in the customs limit! ALL prices are quoted in AUD!

Someone at DVD Forums asked:
alphatyrant wrote:OK maybe a daft question, and I probably should look it up, but what time would that be here?
It's Australian AEST (Eastern Australian Standard Time) so the start/end time works by: 10 Hours ahead of GMT.
http://www.davidsemporium.co.uk/zonecodes.html
Meaning it
commences GMT at 12pm lunchtime on Saturday the 4th of November until 10pm that evening (if my maths is correct?). The AEST start times the Madman site quotes is: "Between 10:00pm November 4 and 8:00am November 5 (AEST)".

As one DVD Forums member points out this bargain isn't worth it for the few 2 Disc releases Madman sell!

How come?

From the newsletter:
"The sale is $10 PER DISC - for example a 7 disc Collection will be $70."
So 2 discs would be $20 and therefore £13, and not a bargain.

so what is a MUST buy? Meaning, what do they have that's excellent ie the best edition of a film. Also, do their Godzilla discs have English subtitles?

by slasher13
Yes I have Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla and Godzilla, Mothra And King Ghidorah - Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Both are in japanese with english subtitles. I think it has been taken from the international print (ie English opening) but looks to be uncut
Very happy with it

I'm surprised considering the interest during the last Madman sale only Linn and I are interested, most weird.
I'll be having a good look Saturday. I'll be getting:
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Twilight Samurai
For sure, and maybe:
Bangkok Dangerous
Dolls
Pity Rashomon isn't out until after the sale

If it's not mentioned whether it's NTSC-PAL or Film-PAL it means I don't know. Please be aware it's NOT a definitive list, but it will give you a good idea:

Also the "Eastern Eye - DVD Release Schedule + Specs" Thread:

p.s - Of Western titles
"Hidden" is very good, with interviews on top of the already good UK R2 and R1 releases.
"Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" is also very good (2 Disc DTS SE). Info on both can be found here:

Yes, no offence Grim but I didn't put it in bold for people not to read:

Preorders will not count.
2 hours after you guys tried I can't get in either  . We've got until 10pm tonight so fingers crossed.
I can get into the Madman forum but that's very slow too. I've started a thread here:
http://madboards.madman.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=23162
p.s - Ow I'm in but then it doesn't mean a lot when I then can't get any further page to load.

Forget it. I'm never doing that again. I had films in my cart FOUR times, and couldn't do it. I spent hours trying to get things to go through. And all I REALLY wanted was Master of the Flying Guillotine!

Can I suggest everyone whose as pissed off as I am replies to this thread:
http://madboards.madman.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=23162
And e-mails Madman to complain how shit their service was today, at:
newsletter@madman.com.au
What a complete waste of fucking time  . The best I managed was the login stage with 3 items in my basket but would it login would it bugger.
The sale is of course now over, no one has got anything and the site is back to normal!

I guess we're going to have to pay full rip off price at the likes of DVD Crave!
Actually how about 13 pages of complants, it seems only a handful got in (one guy managed to order 30 DVDs):

I've had exams to worry about, bugger off.
I found out bout the sale at the last minute from a mate on MSN. I'm on 1/3 speeds until my data cap resets on the 12th or so and couldn't access the site. Anyway had my mate grab for me three Wim Wenders films, three Michael Haneke films, Oshii's Avalon (to replace my R1 Miramaxe DVD with the awful dubtitles, thanks Harvey for cocking up another DVD.), Pedro Alo-whatever's Live Flesh and Blood: The Last Vampire.

Wow, turns out that my mate was up til 9.30am trying to get the order to go through and it did in the end. Dang, was hoping that the attempts had failed so that I could buy more anime this month.
Ah well, can at least cross Wings of Desire, 'Paris, Texas' and The American Friend off my list of shit to buy.

Am I the only one who got exactly what they wanted then? I made up a list of titles, researched which of these the Madman DVDs might be the best versions of (couldn't get definite answers), sorted out a shortlist and come the day of the sale ordered everything I wanted to with only minor hassle!

The offer is back on guys! First post fully updated with everything I know:
1. Post 1: NEW Offer/Newsletter - 06/11/06
2. Post 2: Further Information
3. Post 3: Original Offer
I am finding the special link doesn't work but going to www.madman.com.au and typing in the code works fine.

The sale ending Thursday should also mean Rashomon, Pulse & Godzilla vs Mothra released on the 8th should be part of the sale (if you order on the 8th or the 9th, when they're no longer pre-order).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's best to stick to 3 DVDs per order as postage to the UK is then roughly $9.90, adding a fourth bumps it to $22.

I was just about to post that

I guess I'll have to pay full price for Pulse, never mind it makes my decision easier and I've just bagged:
Twilight Samurai
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Bangkok Dangerous
