Brotherhood of the Wolf - best version

Post by grim_tales »

I thought I'd only rent the UK R2 version to check it out but I found it only has a French 2.0 track and a dub (English) in 5.1 :x I don't want to watch it in just plain stereo. :(
Isn't the Canadian 3 disc release best to get for English speakers?

Cool :)
Where did you get it from?
I may be wrong but I think the UK DVD is also the TC of the film, I wouldn't have minded if French 5.1 was included

Thankyou :) Less than a tenner, not bad for a 3 disc set.

Not taking English subs into account, there is a beast of a 4 Disc set. Alas it's French and racist against English speaking audiences.

This is a simple one: Canadian 3 Discer with English all the way except the commentaries.

It's also the extended cut and has DTS too. The USA R1 is pants but as Slasher points out DVD Pacific are selling the Canadian DVD (or it could be in The States too now).

Et oui, I've got it. :D

Awesome set.

The canadian is the best for people who can't speak français, though.

What's on the fourth disc?

The Canadian has everything the French had I thought bar commentaries or rather it has those but no English subs.

Disc 3 = An 80-minute making-of (very different from the one on disc 2).

Disc 4 = The Gévaudan Beast (the movie that inspired BOTW) and a bunch of Christophe Gans interviews.

The candadian has some serious edge enhancment thought. Other than that its excellent, the DTS track is abosolutely thumping.

Fair enough but you know what when the English friendly competition sucks as much as it does I don't really care.

Why is it very different? I'm sure that's on the R1 Canadian.

Wasn't there originally a 3 Disc French version? Disc 4 looks to be exclusive.

I hope for a HD version of the film :) but the fine Canadian version is well worth getting the extras are very good indeed.

Ahh I remember the days this 3 dvd versiion was 6 quid at dvdsoon (rip off scumbags!) ohh those were the days, long gone now! but 13 quid is still worth it, I paid maybe 15 quid on release so its a bargain if you like the film (i love it). I wish I spoke french then I could get the wonderful looking french version as the picture is amazing.

Is it much better than the Canadian? DVD Soon had some nutty pricing DVDs, before they turned into bastards that is.

I see the DVDSoon.com website no longer exists.

Yup they owe me bigtime :) fingers crossed lots of people got the sack and are now homless after being took to court for millions, but really I am sure the rip off scumbags are just sitting back holding them millions in their banks.

The French version from what I could tell looked a fair bit better, stunning at times. But hey I dont speak french, so must say no :)
