Here is a decent review at DVD Debate by Casimir Harlow:

REVIEW

To summarise the differences:

* Better PQ on the HK DVD (IMO), see the above screenshots.
* No commentary on the Tartan DVD.
* No English subtitles for the deleted scenes on the Tartan DVD (WTF?).
* The same English subtitled feature on both (it's subtitled on both too).
* The Tartan DVD has AWFUL cover art.
* The HK DVD is only £6.99 here.
* The "only" reason to get the Tartan DVD is the English subtitled "Film Confidential" featurette which runs for all of 6 minutes.

I wanted to have the same region for each film but I guess I won't now. Why Tartan decided to mess up the extras is beyond me. If only they'd included the commentary (subtitled of course) at least!

I own Tartan's IA DVD and will get Megastar's IA2 DVD, it's much cheaper and I'd prefer to have the extras not subtitled than not have them at all. There is that cover art too!

It's worth mentioning Cas has a review copy (I think).

Word back from Cas:

[i]Cheers for your comments Brad,

Yep, I think this is it. So although the Tartan copy looks interesting, there's no reason not to pick up the cheaper, snazzy HK release - it has got a much better cover and a slip-case!

I may wait until January to be on the safe side.

I'm happy with my HK DVD - I bet the Tartan IA III will have equally bad cover art though. ;)

Their IA cover art wasn't to bad. I'm hoping it will have the commentaries next time! The thing is it's a 6 month wait to find out.

Oh yeah you're right :( There is a chance that the HK DVD of IA III wont have fixed audio.

I forgot about the audio issues but tbh I could barely notice any lip sync issues and then in honesty only when I really listened (add to that I was trying to find a fault).

I ordered the R3 from CD WOW earlier tonight. I'll make the assumption the retail Tartan version will be as bad.
