You don't care about Blade Runner but this tripe gets you excited???

It's nearly as bad as Evil Dead 2.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre tripe? It's a fantastic picture, a classic of its genre and an masterpiece of tension, atmosphere and terror. And it's a million times better than Evil Dead 2

The thing is I have had 3 releases so far I think :( each one better than the last, I now only own the UK 2 dvd limited edition set with the documentary.
Its georgous and all that, but I still havent got round to watching it yet, and if I upgrade again I wont want to watch it :D

I paid 30 quid for the 1st Pioneer release from amercia! got stung by customs 7 years back! now thats scary!

I wasn't comparing them. I just find it strange you get excited over this but not Blade Runner, each to his own.

lol, I am also excited about this news, and one thing is that Dark Sky are getting good on each release. Their version of Henry Portait of a serial killer is the best version out there. They are fast becoming like Blue Underground (My fav currently) and how Anchor Bay used to be in the past (USA dept, UK still kick ass on DVD - Phantasm Boxset and Hellraiser :D)

Don't Worry SaltySam, I really think this will be an excellent version and can't wait to get it. I might then sell my pioneer version

Shame Blue Underground have almost stopped releasing great film :( and Anchor Bay USA are still top man :D

I guess the film should look good, but A HI DEF transfer of an old 16mm transfer should ve interetsing :) they may be doing a HD version at the same time.

Yes am into 70's exploitation movie, so will check that out, cheers Saltysam and also will check out Freaked Romerorpg.

One thing i loved from Blue Underground is the R1 Blind Dead Collection, loved the boxset and having the movie (well part 1) uncut :). Plus they are not dubbed. Also loved Dead and Buried: LE and Fire and Ice: LE :D

Dead and Buried UK dvd was fantastic (I am sure its identical to the USA Blue Underground dvds), and for 3.99! the 3 commentaries were superb too.

The best new Blue Underground release I got was The Final Countdown Limited Edition :D bloody love that film and the sound and picture and amazing for a film ike that!

I am suprised a bigger company like Anchor Bay orr Blue Underground never got the rights for Chain Saw massacre on dvd :( pity.

I dont own any Dark Sky dvd's (yet) :) I dont think they could mess up the release really as they will be stealing from the other releases for the most part :D

Be interesting to hear the New commentary track mind you. I listen to them at work so I can get thru loads in a week and they for me are becoming the best dvd extra (apart from big juicy documentaries).

Presented in an anamorphic widescreen transfer, this is the best Hooper's filmic debut has ever looked! An HD transfer from the original; 16mm negative, the picture shows no signs of speckling, dirt, or grain, the picture is evenly distributed, and the colors are lush. While the picture still looks low lit and grimy, this was the intent of the crew, capturing further the illusion of realism. The elements themselves have been cleaned considerably.
Excellent! Finally a remastered anamorphic release of this film. I will buy it for sure.
