There's a 4 part documentary presented by Paul Merton - Paul Mertons Silent Clowns, where he does profiles of Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd etc. I'd be interested to see the programme (and check out some of the movies?) since its well known some of Jackie's most famous stunts originally turned up on the silent screen
For example, the ending of "Project A" (the clock tower fall) is a tribute to Harold Lloyd in Saftey Last (1923), the bike scene is Keaton-like and at the end of "Project A II" debt is paid to Keaton in "Steamboat Bill, Jr" (1928).
I mentioned the link between style of comedy/stunts and the silent comedians in my project on Jackie in Film Studies (kind of), I should of mentioned what I just said there, about him doing tributes to famous scenes which I dont think I did.
