Bullets 'n' Babes

Anybody seen this? I read Bisc's preview on Debate, it looks very good (though I'm reminded of Bichunmoo for some reason, as I think thats set in a similar period). Is it similar to that?

Bisc what do you mean by "that terrible Japanese Versus"? I thought you liked Versus?
Its good this film has little in the way of CG effects for the fighting though

You're right, I love Versus.

As for this film, from the grabs it looks pretty decent but I've not read raving reviews about it. It seems people think it's average or slightly above... we'll wait n see... :smug:

Its been in production for ages! well over a year and I am waiting to see if its all that too, I am sure it will be as Korean films are as good as they get! the last few I have seen were brilliant! R Point was esspecially fooked and scary!

You're right Romero I'm sure I heard about this on Old Bullets (Post Nuke) as far back as 2002/3 I agree, looks pretty good doesnt it?

I have only seen pics really, and a basic plot as not to spoil it for me

I am buying even if everyone says its shite, as from the small stuff I have seen it seems to be a film I want to own as soon as I see it for preorder cheap, its mine

I saw this a few days ago and found the film to be around average story wise. The cinematography, set designs like all korean films these days done to a high standard. It really feels like an epic film. The woman in the film is a babe and the fights are quite good. The downside is the story is a tad muddled maybe another watch will make me change my mind.

As a point of reference with regards to other korean historical dramas:

I loved Bichunmoo and would give it 4.5/5
Musa 5/5
Sword In The Moon 3/5

I'll probably pick it up when the HK DVD is released; assuming it is anamorphic and has some form of 5.1 of course.

The Korean DVD looks to have DTS after all but is now only on 1 disc (according to the cover art anyway).

Wolf I thought Bichunmoo was a 3/5 (or 3.5/5). Great looking film but the story was confusing at times IMO, and the mix of traditional music and metal was wierd in the score.

No you don't! You see more Korean films but you don't see more films than me. There is a vast section of cinema you aren't interested in at all.

Who said I wouldn't see it? Like I said I'll wait for the HK DVD so by definition you're going to see it first.

I dont know why but I really loved Bichunmoo even though it was blasted by alot of people. Even with the cuts I found the story easy to follow and I loved the OST! Go figure? Each to their own as I say

I loved Bichunmoo as well (although I still haven't got round to locating a full version yet)

I found Bichunmoo one of the worst Korean films I have seen so far, but it was still very watchable, Musa was far better in every way (except rock anthems coming on at inapropriate times).

the full version is non-existant as the cut scenes have been lost, probaly for ever

Ifind it amazing footage can ever get lost, its crazy! all the copies they make of each reel and film can! its just silly that it does not exist in todays markey! they could Ebay film stock and make cash! instead of burning the bloody stuff!
