The Replacement Killers - Extended Cut

Post by thelostdragon »

LOL! Sony / Columbia really seem to be making a lot of money with their extended cuts DVD wave.

It's about 9 minutes longer and is supposed to add a bit of depth to the characters.

It was released in April in the USA. I liked the film and if it gets released in a PAL country, I might get it.

Here Chow Yun-fat screams at Meg, "Shoot meee!" When she hesitates he pretends wanting to do it himself and takes the gun away from her.

Now this is a movie that could really benefit from some more character development.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

hey,

I read it's basically the deleted scenes section from the SE that's now restored into the feature (and in better quality). Isn't totally a bad choice as there was a scene or two of actual, good development.

The SE has a commentary though too.

hey,

they omitted that on this extended which is a shame as I'd rather have that with 9 minutes worth of gaps or newly done bits with Fucqua, talking about the extended scenes.

Agreed. It always pisses me off they don't include the commentary when it's a longer cut especially as you say it wouldn't be hard to add gaps.

hey,

and it was actually a good track, very non-screen specific (which is what I like). Quite informative.
