Fawlty Towers

Post by grim_tales »

Did anyone see this on Thursday? It was part of a programme on BBC2 called "Comedy Doubles" where 2 different comedies are compared (in this case Fawlty Towers and 'Allo 'Allo!) to see how they approach the idea/theme of farce (something like that anyway).

The Fawlty Towers episode was the one where an American guy and his wife come to the hotel and Basil tries to make a Waldorf salad (if that makes any sense). I thought it was very funny  John Cleese is great.

How anyone can compare the sublime Fawlty Towers with pantomime 'Allo 'Allo is anyone's guess?
