The UK R2 looks much nicer, the R4 is to dark. How come the R4 looks stretched?

That's ok. Two Scots, everyone thinks we're the same.
The R4 looks like the wrong end of a hippo rectum. I'm tempted to buy it for the extras but am satisfied with the R2 single disc.

You could get the UK R2 and maybe kill to birds with one stone, as you may like the UK R2 SE PQ.
It's missing some of the minor extras but the majority are all there.

Nah not true. It's decent. The best SE PQ IMO. It's the best all rounder but then so does the R4 according to you.

Yeah, those caps are my fault. I didn't quite get the reformatting right. Close enough to make an image comp though.
The R2 is better; colour schemes are different though. Look at the last cap in the toilet.

The old UK and Scandanavian discs are the best.
Unfortunately the my R4 is the worst of the lot.

All I know is I owned the R4 SE. I bought the UK R2 SE as it was reported to have better PQ.
I compared both on the same TV and much preferred the colours on the R4. I traded the R4 and kept the R2.

If the extras on the 2nd disc are good enough I can make myself a copy.

Managed to pick up a 2nd hand copy of the old R2 today for £3.99.
Some scratches, alas, but plays perfect.
Image is like night and day with the R4.
However, if anyone wants the R4, either because they prefer the image, or the 2nd dics of extras, I'm trading mine. Will also sell it for a fiver cash.

I was thinking of doing the same. I'm looking forward to an update to this thread when someone posts the new R1 SE captures.
Can someone fix the R4 caps to bring the height back down to 408 pixels.
