Region 1:

TF1:

Hard to find a winner.
Both DVDs are equally sharp and bright, but they have different colors.
R1 DVD has a blueish tint, TF1 has a greenish tint.
I think skin tones are a bit pinkish on the R1.
But knowing Wong Kar-Wai, it's hard to guess how he wanted this movie to look.
Days of Being Wild:

Different framing. TF1 DVD is window-boxed 1:66. Tartan DVD is 1:778.
Tartan DVD has a greenish tint. TF1 DVD has a blueish tint.

I think the Tartan DVD is slightly better, but I'm happy with my TF1.
ChungKing Express:
I'm not comfortable posting these pics here, since it has been proven that the DVD-Beaver caps I've used are inaccurate.
So, here are the links:

Here's one that includes the new R2UK DVD:

TF1 picture is darker but colours are more vivid and sharpness is excellent.
Fallen Angels:

Kino vs TF1. TF1 is window-boxed and looks better.

Accent R4 vs TF1. TF1 looks good, but Accent looks awesome.

Accent R4 vs TF1. Same conclusion.

Ditto.

Ditto.
Happy Together:
This is a mini-comparison (done with the help of Running Man from the ADVDG forum).
Kino vs TF1:

TF1 looks way better.
Conclusion:
As always with TF1 discs, quality is not perfect but it's very good.
Days of Being Wild = Tartan has the edge because of the green filter.
ChungKing Express = I think that TF1 and R2UK are great.
Fallen Angels = Nothing can beat the R4.
Happy Together = French DVD looks great.
