as far as I'm aware the only version with the director's cut is the Japanese version. Its not available on Yesasia and Amazon.jp seems to disagree with me. Where is the best place to get it from?

That doesn't have English subs right?
Have you tried CD Japan?

JP DVD does indeed have english subs.
So far the rundown is -
JP R2 for the film (directors cut w/ eng subs) and the UK R2 for the extras (really great release - shame about the international cut)

Definalty has english subs! as I paid 41 quid for the Limited Edition and I would have binned it if it had no subs :wacko:
but hey I am sure its available somewhere, odd its not on yesasia, have you tried AMAZON.JP they seem to get alsorts in stock
and are well priced, but customs are a problem if its over 18 quid
