Personally I don't see a woman showing authority as being more manly. She's simply showing authority; authority is not a specifically male trait.

It does however show that we solely consider authority as a male trait and therefore when women do it they're being more "manly".

What do you guys think?

Huh?

Maybe he means the way the women in his films are stronger characters than the men? I don't know. Look at how A Chinese Ghost Story turns the hero/victim thing on its' head. Asthetically Leslie Cheung is rather bumbling and doesn't look like a hero does he?
