American Idol

Post by grim_tales »

Just came across this this morning - not sure if this was the first American Idol? :?
Its' interesting to look at and compare now we've had several Pop Idol and X factor series - most AI contestants are in a different class (certainly vocally) to UK ones IMO.
When Vonzell (sp?) sang the Donna Summer track On The Radio I thought of Brenda (X Factor 2) for some reason. :)
I also liked Bo Bice (sp?) (guy with long hair and beard), I'd never heard the song he did acapella though it was really brave of him to do that, and Satisfaction by the Stones was perfect for him.

EDIT: Actually its the 4th season of AI being shown.

That's the season I watched. IMO I found it a lot more entertaining than any of the British Pop Idols, X-factors and fame academies...etc..etc...

I have to say they really didnt need that much padding on the "Results" show - 1 1/2 hours? Bloody hell
The standard of performers (that I watched) is generally so much better than our Pop Idol/X Factor IMO.

When it came to results - I only watched the final 5 minutes. It's all I need to know really. 8)

I know - hence why 1.5 hours is pointless
