Hero EE (HK DVD) question

In the opening credits of the movie, why does it have Miramax's name on it?

I thought this was supposed to be Yimou's cut of the movie (an EE at least if not a DC), and Miramax had nothing to do with it.

Didn't Miramax finance Hero ?

I guess not.
But they did get their hands on the DC before it got cut.
Maybe Edko simply used the Miramax negative because it was in better shape.

I'm sure Miramax did finance Hero. Otherwise why would they have have had so much say over it?
