Is it needed?
You would say of course it is, its for charity so how can this be a bad thing?
Much like Comic Relief, comedy is often used at these things which I can really see the point of. Its' ironic that behind the light relief there is a deeper message.
BUT here is what I dont understand, on every Comic Relief, CIN etc *we* are told to donate money, why don't some ultra-rich celebrities donate money?
To be fair though they probably do more charity work/visits that dont get publicised. On The Big Bid on BBC1, it was only very erich people who could afford the once in a lifetime things for all the children (meeting/ training with Becks or having your face scanned into a golf video game among others) but the money was all going to charity so thats a good thing.
But on the other hand if fatuous idiots like Jordan/Peter Andre (God Almighty who decided they'd do that awful duet - A Whole New World, on CIN?!
) it would sort out the problem faster.
