Predictions for England v Austria

Post by grim_tales »

I hope its 2 or 3-0 but after the fiasco of Denmark, Wales and NI I have my doubts :?
I hope Sven goes back to 4-4-2 (looks like he might), as Becks has been moved to his natural position on the right where he's been very good for Madrid recently. :D The silly formation was one problem we had IMO, as well as being crap :D

Peter Crouch has been called up as well, I'm not sure what attributes he has apart from being 6 foot 8  But may as well try someone new (target man who can worry defenders?) as Rooney's suspended.
IMO Darren Bent should play (if not start), he's been superb for Charlton IMO and we need a striker who scores fecking goals :D
Maybe him/Owen up front. Drop Rio for Big Sol Campbell also. :)

Who do Scotland play? is it Belarus or something like that?

I think Bent should start, perhaps with Owen up front with him, but I think crouch would do well as well ...
I hope england will do well as it would be a shame if they missed out on 2006, England should always be at the main tournament. I'm not a big fan of the way England plays though, and I really don't like many players either. But still, England is a big-name country with big-name players, so they should be there...

Anyway, depending on who's in defence (Cambell or Rio), it can go either way. Austria have a couple of good players (Vonlanthen) and a good keeper (manninger, right!?) so should be a nice game.

I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Yeah, if Sven plays Bent and Owen up front and Becks on the right, he's doing 4-4-2.
I'm not sure if Austria's keeper is still Alex Manninger.
Hopefully England shouldnt make too many (?) mistakes with Paul Robinson in goal, better than Calamity James anyway.. ;)

Why wasn't Danny Murphy picked?? AFAIK Sven was actually at the Charlton game, what has Jenas done for Newcastle?
As for Neville, he's been having great games for Everton.. NOT!!!
FFS, he's leading them towards relegation

According to this link, Sven has dropped Rio for Campbell, and hinted again he'll go back to 442 after the shambles in Cardiff and NI.

Much better display by England, though we were late at OT and I missed the first 20-25 mins
Rooney was good, :) I liked Wright-Philips and Ledley King's performances also. Quality goals by Owen and Lampard! :) (Wasnt one offside or something?) :?
