Trailers that remind you of/rip off other movies

Post by grim_tales »

Hey,

I thought of this thread because of watching an old VHS tape a while back.

It was the old VHS of "Once Upon A Time In The West" and before the film there were a few trailers, one was "Sliver" (1993 movie with Sharon Stone and William Baldwin).
The thing was as soon as it started I thought "I dont remember any of this from Basic Instinct" I initially thought it was BI because it had Jerry Goldsmith's BI score over the top, and Stone featured a lot in the trailer. :D

What about the 1987 trailer for Robocop that has The Terminator music on it, playing up the "Man as machine" angle?

Can anyone think of any others?

The trailer for recent Sydney Pollack-directed political thriller The Interpreter (has Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman) used music from the Jason Bourne films.

What drug are you on? The ONLY correct way to see to OUATITW is via the R1 DVD (in regards to a home entertainment format).

You NEED to see the lovely transfer of Leone's DC on any of the Paramount DVDs. Is the tape pan&scan too? Then you NEED to see a DVD ASAP. ALL of Leone's westerns are beautifully composed to 2.35:1. P&S lops off about 40% of the picture of a 2.35:1 frame.

Only the R1 has the original English mono. The DD5.1 is okay though, it uses all the original sound elements and is mixed well.

OK, thanks :) Yeah, I'd sure like to see the new DVD as the picture on the video hadnt been cleaned up (AFAIK) so looked pretty shabby. And yes it was 1.33/1 (IIRC). :(
