After three American Pie movies, the film's producers figure fans are ready for a fourth.
But American Pie: Band Camp won't arrive in theaters; it's going directly to DVD.
And only Eugene Levy remains from the original cast.
Direct-to-DVD sequels — which generally don't have the stars who carried the original films or the budgets — were once limited to animated films, horror and sci-fi franchises. Now, thrillers, dramas and comedies are getting the treatment.
The American Pie trilogy took in $351.2 million in theaters and sold millions of DVDs.
Some films don't warrant a full-blown theatrical release; the cost for making prints of a movie, plus advertising it, now averages $34.4 million, according to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

American Pie: Band Camp - DTV sequel
Who the fuck asked for this? Talk about flogging a dead horse - it will probably make a boat-load of cash too like most DTV releases.

I think there should be a spoof called YANKIE PIE.
Actually did anyone see NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE? Tripe, for sure, but it had more cheap laughs that AMERICAN PIES 2/3 put together.
And the scene where Mia Kirshner plays tonsil hockey with the old granny is one of the grossest piece of celluloid I've ever seen. She's a sexy chick (Mia, not the granny, natch!) but I'd have to think twice now!! lol

Van Wilder is terrible. Relies on unfunny toilet humour to generate the laughs.biguy wrote:I also have VAN WILDER in my unwatched DVDs box somewhere...
Where does it rank against AMERICAN PIE movies....?
Will I be wasting my time if I watch it???
All three American Pie films are far superior.

Personally I loved Van Wilder... it had a puke worthy ending, and you could never understand why Tara Reid's character was ever with her boyf in the first place, but it was very funny! The dog semen bit was very much gross out humour, but I liked it (the humour, not the dog semen... was too salty).biguy wrote:I also have VAN WILDER in my unwatched DVDs box somewhere...

I'd definitely give it a viewing if you liked the AP films. It is WAY better than part III, which I didn't like thanks to the non-Stifler Stifler. I thought it was maybe a little better than part 2, but part 1 was definitely the best mainly cause it rejuvinated the teen gross out genre.
Get the unrated R1 edition of VW too! Cause there is an uncensored menu option where there's a woman wearing a t-shirt with the menu options, and when you change menu, she changes t-shirt and she's not wearing a bra!!! Brilliant!!!

Nor Another Teen Movie is very funny IMO.
I especially love the scene when the "token black guy" at the party spots another black guy and, more than a little bemused, enquires: "What are you doing here?"
