House Of Wax - 3/5

It gets an extra marks because Elisha looks lovely as always, and another extra mark because Paris Hilton dies in a very fitting way...

So if you take off those two extra marks, it gets 1/5. So it was not good.

The Life Aquatic - 3/5
I was about to give it a ?/5, because I really didn't know what to think of it at first. It is very well made, with a few great laughs. Bill Murray is as cool as he's always been. But the story was just not interesting enough to make it worthwhile.

Fargo - 5/5
Bloody excellent film. A tightly-written and masterfully acted thriller, I especially loved the dark humour. My new favourite Coen Bros. film to date (previously Raising Arizona).

Total Recall - 4/5
I can't believe i never saw this film before, it's bloody excellent. I got the r2 special edition cheap from Virgin 3 for £20 offer. I got this, duel and once a upon a time in the west. I really like this movie, a classic 80's film with a good story. Arnie and Sharon are okay in it, but i like Michael Ironside and Ronny Cox. They were excellent in this, but Ronny Cox i feel was still acting the same like he was in Robocop.
Bottom line if you haven't seen the movie, and that me , then watch it

Spider-Man Vs. Doc Ock (R2) - 4/5

Features 4 episodes from the 90's series (including 2 excellent ones featuring the Black Cat), plus two 60's bonus episodes, "The Power of Dr. Octiopus" and "Sub-Zero for Spidey".

The Duel - 5/5
Steven Spielberg first movie and what a cracker of a movie. I really liked this movie, okay Jaws came after, but this movie was really raw. The lead actor is good, and i love the way it was filmed onset. The atmosphere is really good in this movie and you can see what Steve is where he is today.

Hey Grim, not Spider-Man Vs. Doc Ock. I have only got the R1 Venom Saga which i loved. Which one would you recommend in getting?

Out of Doc Ock/Venom Saga?

Overall I preferred the episodes on Venom Saga as theyre darker and cooler (though I did like the Black Cat ones on the Doc Ock disc a lot!). Doc Ock also has 2 episodes of the 60's cartoon.

My favorite Spiderman episode, is where he is talking to a sick young girl, about how he became spiderman, and how did didn't want to continue being spiderman. The ending to that is just brilliant. One of the more mature episode and on par with some of the Batman Original Cartoon which Bruce Timm produced.

I think that Spidey episode with the young girl is one of the Sins of the Fathers ones.

The 60's episodes on the R2 Doc Ock disc are The Power of Doctor Octopus and Sub-Zero For Spidey.

Little Britain (S3, episode 2) - 4/5

Very funny Loved the opening Vicky Pollard sketch and also the Mr Mann sketch in the shop, "Do you have any pictures of a disappointed horse?"/That one looks rather astonished not disappointed"

Had some pretty disgusting moments too though, notably a variation on the WI sketch from Series 2, featuring a woman donating a kidney.. ewww

When I turned Nine - 4/5
Wow, watching this film has been a very good. Damn it, even the child actors from South-Korea are awesome at acting. A must-watch for anybody who likes movies about the lifes of kids, seriously acted and not childishly at all.

Donnie Darko - 4.5/5
Go and see this film. What an awesome film, especially when considering the fact that this was made by a first-time theatrical film director. It's these guys who inspire me.
The movie is really wonderful. Check it out.

Poor bastard Richard Kelly only got $9 000 for writing and directing this film, which now ranks at number 96 on IMDB's top 250 movies.

Mulholland Drive - 4.5/5
This film was utter entralling, I was stucked in from start. Everything was great - the writing, the acting, Badalamenti's haunting score. I'm really looking forward to Inland Empire now.

Also the DTS track rocked.

The Life Aquatic - 4/5

Fun and quirky comedy drama with Bill Murray as Jacques Cousteau like oceanographer Steve Zissou. He goes off with a band of other adventurers on a voyage to hunt down the shark that ate his best friend, Esteban. Along the way, among other things, he discovers he has a long lost son (Owen Wilson). Much of the drama of the film comes from the characters relationships - Murray is excellent, at his world weary, ironic best here.

I gave "Life Aquatic" a 3/5.

Address Unknown - 4/5
Would have given it a 4.5/5 if it wasn't for that lousy American actor. I have the feeling that in Asia, when it comes to casting a Western role, they never put a lot of effort into looking for good actors. Take "JSA" as an example. That Switz captain and that Swedish guy were both real lousy actors, too.

Kim Ki-duk is a very good director in my opinion, though. His style of directing movies is just so different and makes them very enjoyable. One of the few filmmakers who will make you think after watching his films.
