Only just seen this piece of shit, as I didn't like the previous two. My mate brought it round today, and it was just laughable really. The acting, the dialogue, all the shitty aliens and monsters, the whole range of transition effects from MS Powerpoint utilised.

You expect acting and good dialogue from Star Wars? Dialogue especially. ALL the Star Wars films have woeful dialogue. It's not one of Lucas's strong points. I thought ROTS was great though, much better than the prior two. TPM was a turd.

I quite liked ROTS actually - better than the other 2 prequels anyway

Iron Man blu-ray 3.5/5

A Very good super-hero movie is just missing something to make it great. Robert Downey jr owns the role of Tony Stark and i never realised how hot Gwyneth Paltrow is. the cast is fine but the film is a little overlong and lacks any really top notch action sequences.still i enjoyed it immensely (2nd viewing) # note on the blu-ray # this took around 4 minutes to load up on my ps3,first time that's happened on any disc for me.

i'll try it again tomorrow but once the menu came upthere were no problems at all.

reading on dvdforums it's not loading at all on some BD Players and up to 30 minutes on others! guess i'm lucky then,the disc BD-J heavy apparently.

Who on Earth would wait 30 minutes for a disc to load?! You'd just assume it was faulty and take it out the player!

I really don't get how or why BD-Java has to be so slow to load. Surely if its a standard thing on BD, then it should load within a few seconds, 30 at most.

Having said that, I've not had any problems with any BDs loading yet on my DMP-BD50. My copy of Iron Man (US version) is in the post, so I'll see what my player is like with load times on that disc when it comes...

Carlito's Way ***

Pacino owns this gangster pic with a dynamic performance, but Sean Penn (of whom I'm not a fan) is excellent too. Stylish direction by Brian DePalma, who could teach most filmmakers a thing or too about camera movement. It's a bit long, but might have seemed less so if they'd beefed up the action a bit. We wait two hours for a climactic gunfight and it's over in 30-40 secs.

I didn't expect a climatic gunfight. That would hurt the film. De Palma gave us this in Scarface. I imagine he didn't want to do that again. Carlito's way is a slower burner.

That was the initial play of the disc.it now loads in under 20 seconds.tell me why does your player have a 30 page and counting thread entitled "Discs the LG BH200 has problems with"

How come it's now much quicker? I'd expect it to be constant. I guess the Java is now loaded into the PS3's persistent memory.

I did. Because there was so little action throughout the film I figured we were building up to some special.

i thought Carlito's way was excellent,an easy 4/5 for me.the prequel however... :shock:

Alias 5/5 overall

Season 1 5/5 - Very good season. Lots of twists, every episode a main story episode. I couldn't wait till I watched the next one.

Season 2 5/5 - As above

Season 3 4.5/5 - Took a bit of getting used to at first, but then developed into another top season.

Season 4 3/5 - It was good, but the first 1/2 to 3/4 of the season was just random fighting bad guys episodes that were not key to the overall plot of the whole series. Basically it was the espionage drama equivalent of sci-fi's "monster of the week" type episodes. When Rambaldi came back into the story line towards the end of the season it got better.

Season 5 4/5 - It was good, but not great. Too many of the main characters weren't in it as much for whatever reason, but it did just seem like all the cast came back at least once if only to show there faces and figuratively say goodbye to the series. Too much was unbelievable in this one too. Some people die almost instantly from one gun shot in all the seasons, but in this one, quite a few people last a long time with multiple gunshots... that and a few other things that weren't realistic in the way people would be did ruin it a little. But it was good that the main story was the focus again.

All in, a really enjoyable series and glad I finally got round to watching it all.

The cover was enough for me to pass. It looks dreadful and very much a cash-in.

OK, so I watched Iron Man today. It took about 5 (yes, five) seconds to load the menu on my DMP-BD50.

Is that from standby? If so, that's very impressive. It takes about 15 seconds (roughly) for my BH200 to just turn on, which is quick btw.

No, not from standby. From putting the disc in the tray, to the menu coming up took about 5 seconds. My BD player takes about 10 to 15 seconds to boot too.

I wonder when BD Players will get to DVD Player level. My Pioneer DV-868AVi was less than 5 seconds to turn on from off.

I suggest you have a read of said thread. There is only one problem BD with the latest BH200 firmware and that is easily fixed by clearing the BD Flash memory. All the rest are HD-DVDs, which correct if I'm wrong the PS3 cannot even play . The BH200 has always played BDs very well, only a handful have ever been reported.

I'd rather a 30 page thread than no thread and have no idea if there are any problem discs. The fact Iron Man doesn't play too well on the PS3 is enough reason alone to have a thread.
