Devoted is supposed to be very good, I've never used them myself though. I know that Lourdes has though.

It's well over a tenner elsewhere. The ironic thing is the "Recycled paper" edition (why is DVD packaging not using recycled paper as standard?) costs over £10, talk about waste

Becuz it is impractical flimsy crap, dummy. If paper was the standard instead of plastic cases (and digipacks lacked their internal plastic disc holders), imagine how damaged your discs would be in the post.

Recycled cardboard/paper is much more coarser, dirtier and uglier than new stuff. You expect manufacturers to print attractive disc inserts onto that crap?

Yes. Most recycled paper you buy even good quality is recycled. I'm surprised they don't do it already. Of course I meant a normal keep case with recycled instead of normal paper. You shouldn't be able to tell the difference between new and recycled paper.

I've heard that Closer is terrible, from my elder siblings and Mr. Kermode's review show.

I've got a bootleg sitting around, haven't been keen on watching it.

Well it won load of awards, is directed by the guy who made The Graduate and personally I thought it was very good. Overrated yes but still very good.

It's certainly not rubbish, just a wee bit overrated.

I like listening to Kermode for his rants and honest opinion but I find my opinion often differs wildly.

p.s - Postage is only about a quid.

Oh please, you know very well that winning a lot of awards means nothing. Just look at utter crap like Kramer vs. Kramer, A Beautiful Mind and Crash.

He won for The Graduate like 40 years ago and judging by the most recent work of his that I've seen, he isn't the artist that he once was. Have you seen Angels in America? It's a rambling and unfocused mess.

Well neither ABM or Crash are rubbish. Both are definitely flawed though. I meant more that it's not crap than being excellent in that comment.

People IMO use phrases like rubbish and crap far to lightly.

I have little time for Clive Owen or Jude Law but both Natalie Portman and Julia Roberts are very actors. I definitely think it's good enough to warrant a purchase. I'd give it 7 out of 10.

I guess you're right. Inconvenient Truth turned up today and as I only paid £3.99 I'm not bothered (okay I am a bit) but bloody hell it looks like a bootleg.

It literally looks like someone printed out a JPEG on matted paper from a Laserjet printer. So decent quality for an office/home but NOT for a DVD release.

I've seen bootlegs which are the same quality.

If I'd paid full price climate change or no climate change I'd be pissed off.

p.s - There does seem to be two versions at HMV (funnily enough the cheap version was not the "Recycled Paper Edition", so maybe I was sent the wrong version) so maybe one has proper paper.

Nah... I'm sure it's a good movie. check out IMDB.com. many people seem to like/love it, and it's a classic, so it cant be all that bad. Saw some short clips of it on TV ina documentary about 1 of the stars, or the whole movie, dont remember... and it looked ok, cinematography-wise.

Eternal Sunshine

Amelie is quite entertaining/good. Only seen it once though.

Have you tried cdwow and stuff to see how expensive it is over there?
here in holland I think i could buy these movies for 15-20 euro (together), so perhaps local shops offer a good deal for you as well...

I'll see how much they are on CD-WOW though if you buy them on Play (seperately) theyre £7 each...

For 20 quid your getting ripped off bigtime, all them have been under 5 quid elsewhere. No idea at the moment, but look about.

I can't find the 2 disc Ameile anywhere elsewhere, only the 1 disc version. Casablanca 2 disc is about the cheapest it will be.

Just noticed Play are selling the SE of ESOTSM for £7.99 (but its OSS). The one in the multioffer wasnt the SE. Will go for that.
