As for the Play voucher I'll put it on the vouchers thread on Tuesday when/if the link goes live. Just in case it's an April fool joke!
Current CD WOW reduction:
£2.50 for CDs and DVDs or £3 for Games OR 20% off + £1 voucher code - Whichever is cheaper!
A £8.75 chart CD is now £5.95 with the 20% off + £1 voucher code :hello1: . I don't think the bargain for CDs has ever been this good!

Hey Brad,
Not that I'm complaining but the "£1.50 off link" gives you 20% off everything also for some reason.

by bradavon
No it doesn't.
Go to the The e-tailor vouchers and discounts Thread! and then CD Wow - Voucher Instructions AND How much can I get off? and read What to do if you find strange amounts are being deducted. It will answer your query.

OK, thanks.
You may find that the 20% off link doesnt work anymore
BTW here is Mondays code for the Play.com £5 voucher.
Mondays's code - NY76
Also "Import Forum" user "jamesbocco" says:
I contacted Play about this last week (a friend told me this promotion was going to happen) because I had a preorder for a couple of things which I could just cancel and re-order for £5 less. Anyway, they told me that the voucher will be valid with all titles on the site, no matter what the price.

Brad does the cd-wow link work for you?
Several others on Import forum have said its not active either.

OMG. When you click on the source (
http://www.reestit-mutton.co.uk/cdwow7.html ):
There used to be a bargain link here but...
...someone decided to publicise it very publicly on a well known internet forum (you know who you are...shame on you!). Unsurprisingly, the retailer has now expired the deal. In the meantime, you might want to have a look at the latest consumer technology bargains that I've found over on the latest additions page or see what other discount codes are available over on the retailers page.
Still I got one bargain (Last Temptation of Christ: CC for a whopping £4.20 off  ). Seriously though what does the geezer except?
I seriously get the feeling CD WOW don't mind the small discounts (as it's making them lots of money) but this was an amazing offer so I'm not surprised.
I'll remove it. We can still get £2.50 off for DVDs/CDs and £3 for Games!

The £1.50 link still doesn't work for me, neither does the £2 off games.
BTW I did what you said and ate my cookies and drank my web cache and stuff
EDIT: The £1.50 discount works for me now so I can get £2.50 off DVDs but the 20% off one doesn't obviously.

Hey Brad,
If you go to
http://www.play.com/ds now it will explain how we can get our free £5

Thanks Grim.
Two new updates
1. 20% off voucher removed, that lasted long!
2. Play £5 voucher added (make sure you read the T&Cs). Please use the link in the
e-tailors thread as it's affiliated with DVD Times. The two main rules are:
1. Only one voucher per person
2. Offer valid until the 30th of April 2005

Hey,
I dunno how we're going to get the last code, as Deaddingo on Imports forum has locked the thread (he didnt like the talk of people abusing the voucher).

Bugger. I guess someone will have to buy the Daily Star. Like me (I've asked my boss to get it).
EDIT: The e-tailors thread is now updated with the 4 codes we need. With thanks to me

Thanks Brad
I think the "notworthy" smiley or clapping one (from Old Bullets) would be good here, I liked them

So they work now? As the vouchers don't go live until Friday.
I tell you the Daily Star is one trash newspaper. I guess I could've just looked in the shop but I got my boss to buy it for me so it would've meant having to walk down town.

They dont work till friday!?
Well everyuone has ordered them now , I did! and it said I had been entered! was i wrong

Cool. There is something about it not being live until the 8th of April or wait I think it says the vouchers are available until the 8th.
What did you buy? I'll be ordering in a few days after I've worked out what I want. So far it will probably be "Unforgiven: SE".

You dont get any vouchers sadly

it just says something like "recieved" or something like that, noone has them yet from all the forums I have been on, seems its a waiting game to see who gets them now they will email us to tell us who has them I guess, if at all, as some people have tried for as many as they could, at least 40 I know someone has tried for

so if you havent tried for them now I seriously dont expect people will get any.

Huh what are you on about? Sorry your post completely confuses me? 40 what? You said only 90 mins earlier that everyone has ordered them, ordered what then? Me and my brother have requested a voucher and it just says thank you for registering. We've not received any e-mail or the like yet.
What would you order?
EDIT: Correction I see what you mean I completely forgot the limit is a pitiful 8000 vouchers in TOTAL! If someone gets one who cheated and tried 40 times I'll be well pissed off. I hope that wasn't you Romero! Considering the voucher is limited.
What's the point in Play one of the biggest in the country only letting 8000 people in on the deal? That's hardly going to make them lots more money!!!
Bugger it would really annoy me if I didn't get a voucher considering it was me who provided the last voucher, for this site anyway!
Posted: 06 Apr 2005, 09:21
by grim_tales
Blimey I didnt know the total was only 8,000
I only got a "Thankyou for registering" note as well. I haven't recieved an e-mail.

Thankyou for registering yes that what it said
Nope I ordered one for me and some for friends, just stuck there emails and names in and got them 1 each too.
The thing is the Paper they are printing these codes in is lying!
They say for each customer who buys the paper!!!!!! lies! hundreds of thousands of people will buy the paper! are they getting 5 quid to everyone! NO! tut tut only 8000
I just hope i get 1 out of that 8000
