I agree that there should be more films based on the characters - there's a wealth of history waiting to be explored.
I can't wait for the next Gans title, I loved BOTW and Crying Freeman. Still if he takes his time then hopefully it'll be worth the wait.
Sexy and Erotic
you should see them before I edit them for language and inuendo, as I dont even swear once in them, its bloodY hard to stop myself.
The Dukes Of Hazard I didnt like, but Jessica is stunning! best to keep her mouth shut as that accent in the films awfull

I think the My Boots are Made For Walking music video is better than the film, by a mile.

24 - Season 4 - Episodes 1 - 4
Not as bad as a lot of people say. Apart from the clichéed Arab-American-terrorist-family everything is cool so far. Even Chloe doesn't piss me off that much anymore.
But I will have to wait with a judgement until I have watched the other 18 episodes.

24 Season 4 5/5
Well, don't know what everyone else has said, but I loved it!!! Ok there are a few things that seem to just get forgotten about, but then I kinda realised that the stage that they are forgotten about they have probably been handed over to things like local law enforcement (LAPD or wherever) to deal with... Is a little annoying though that things just stop being mentioned.
Anyway, it still kicks ass! But I like hte way things in teh program aren't like in films, where everythign works out well... in fact, 24 must be one of hte most pessimistic programs I've seen, which I think is why it is so good as it isn't all "happy ending" like...
As for the comment above about Chloe - now that you are used to her character from season 3, I found her to be ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS in this season, and was always looking forward to seeing what tactless, unsubtle and blunt thing she'll say next!!
Roll on Season 5!!!

Children of Dune - 4/5
Excellent production that brings books two (Dune Messiah) and three (Children of Dune) to the screen. I really enjoyed the first Sci-Fi channel produced mini series, much more then the David Lynch film.. and this one is even better.
Children of Dune takes a huge leap in production value, and looks much better then the first mini series. Most of the characters are portrayed very well and stay true to the books. Acting is great, most notably Alec Newman, who IMO plays the part of Paul/Muad'Dib perfectly, and Alice Krige as Lady Jessica. Special effects are very good for a television production, although CGI is overused because of the limited budget.
If you are unfamilier with the books, i would naturally recommend that you watch the first 3-part series 'Frank Herbert's Dune' before watching this. These are some of the greatest sci-fi stories ever written IMO and overall i'm very happy with these screen adaptations.

WTF??? Characters start appearing out of nowhere and the makers of the series seem to have neglected the real time factor of the series.
But anyhow, it's still suspenseful and awesome...

Spaced Seasons 1 + 2
4/5
Man what a hoot! Just watched both seasons for the first time. Really funny stuff. Love Brian's character, so weird and random. It's totally different to what I was expecting (a sci-fi spoof). The references are great though. Now I feel like watching Shaun of the Dead - I may actually enjoy it this time.

Lorelei: The Witch of the Pacific Ocean - 3/5
Good new WWII submarine flick from Japan. The premise is fiction but is based around historical fact, and oddly has alittle supernatural thrown in to the mix.
As Tom would say, "How to summarize the plot to a friend when your running out of batteries on your phone" -- A Japanese Officer is assigned to take command of a new prototype sub given to Japan by Germany, but the sub has a certain 'feature' to it which makes it more then your average WWII U-boat. The mission is to stop a 3rd atomic bomb from being dropped on Tokyo.
There are certain elements to the story which persinally i think should have been dropped altogether. The action is good but naturally it fails to avoid the same stuff you see in every sub flick. Pretty much every external shot is CGI, some good and some not so good, but the underwater shots look the best.
Despite all these shortcomings, i did enjoy it and would recommend it to anyone who's a fan of the genre (as long as your not overly bothered by some nationalism in foreign films).
Another thing worth pointing out is that the western actors in the movie were by far the best i've seen in an Asian film. A big step up from the 'off the street' performances we usually see.
The only other thing i didn't like is that i have a feeling i damaged both my hearing and my sound system while watching it

Very good. Henry Fonda plays a very dark character, in a cast also including Charles Bronson. Contains two of the best main themes you've ever heard

It does indeed
Had a mountain movie fest today..
Vertical Limit - 4/5
Yet another movie i cannot understand why people hate so much. Yes its ridiculous and pretty much everything that happens is impossible or doesn't make any sense...but i still think its great fun and can't help but love it.
Touching the Void - 4.5/5
Absolutly incredible story of survival. I am normally very turned off to the idea of a docu-drama. I either want to be watching a documentary, or a film.. but this one is so well done that it didn't bother me at all.
Incase anyone does not know what i mean, the film is narrated by the actual people of the the story. It jumps between the movie re-creation and the interviews, and flows together perfectly.
This is really an amazing piece of work. The whole thing feels so brutally realistic. This one really gives you something to think about. Highly recommended!!!
Cliffhanger - 4/5
This is a great classic action film! John Lithgow is so awesome as the lead terrorist, and Sly is great for his role also.
Great highly entertaining stuff!

Yeah and i must say your a real piece of shit."

Get Carter (1971) - 3.5/5
Michael Caine does a fantastic job playing London gangster Jack Carter, who seems to have virtually no remorse or redeeming features when seeking out the people who murdered his brother. He is a cruel and cold character, miles away from roles like The Italian Job (1969).

What characters have started appearing out of nowhere?? And in what way have they neglected the real time factor?

For example when they call Chloe to come back to CTU? Does she live in their basement or why is she back there all of a sudden. I mean we have seen her in her pyjama. Then Michelle calls and in about 5 minutes, she's back at CTU.
Tony pops up out of nowhere and became the cliché divorced husband (drinking, asshole withhis current girlfriend etc.). Oh, and what a coincidence that Michelle Dessler is assigned to lead the CTU again.
There's just too many coincidences. I have watched episodes 9 - 16 yesterday and I must say that it is still a great show. As I said, I cannot agree with those who have said that it's the worst of all seasons. Personally, I found the third seasons the worst and it was still suspenseful.

I see your point with most of that there, Chloe maybe does get there a little too quickly, so definitely a point there. But Tony doesn't really pop up out of nowhere, as Jack called him and asked for help. The actual phone call started just before the "ad break" but would have taken place in the 3.5 mins of the ad break, then once the ad is over, there is another min or so for him to get there. Again, maybe his response time is a little too quick, but he was called into action, rather than just appearing.
As for the coincidence of Michelle heading CTU... well, yes and no. Yes, cause obviously that sets up a story with her and Tony. But no cause, as is stated in the season, they needed someone suitabley high up at Division (what the hell is this Division that they are always talking about???) but with relevant experience in CTU, so she does seem like a logical choice.
And yeah, maybe Tony is too cliched...

So if you add the minutes you wrote down there together, you'd get 4.5 minutes. Let's say it was 5. So Jack Bauer managed to convince an ex-alcoholic colleague of his of appearing at a perilous place. OK, maybe Tony is a man of courage and honour etc, but excuse me... even I need 10 minutes to the train station and I can't believe Tony is living just next to the place where Jack and Audrey have been. To me, Tony was there too quickly, which supports my point that the makers have neglected the time factor.
Spoiler Warning
Another support for this opinion would be somethng I saw yesterday while watching disc 5 (episodes 17 - 20). After Jack brakes Prado's thumb in the car, the episode ends exactly at 3:00 a.m. They are still in the car, right? Right in the beginning of the next episode, we see Prado in CTU's medics with a bandage around his hand. What??? 0 seconds to take him from the car to the medics and to put a bandage around his hand? Come on... I mean I couldn't care less, but compared to the previous seasons, they clearly neglected the real time factor.
...they needed someone suitabley high up at Division (what the hell is this Division that they are always talking about???)...
Man, I have eben wondering about that since the first season.
And yeah, maybe Tony is too cliched...
Which I think is sad, because he used to be an awesome character and now it seems that he is just there in order to get the new season closer to those who have seen all of them.
But still it is very awesome. Please don't tell me yet what is going to happen, as I still have 4 episodes to watch.

Don't worry, I'm not going to say anything more!!
This is just a general query about the show... the "previously on 24 bits", do they cut into the real time of the show? So if there is say 3 mins of "Previously", does the show actually start at xx:03? If you get what I mean... If so, that could also possibly explain some of the apparent "ignoring the real time" things.
And yeah Tony getting there in 5 mins frmo the phone call. He had his own car, and it was maybe a bit fast, but like Tony said, he owed Jack for getting him out of jail and as far as he was concerned at the time he wanted to call it quits after that. So maybe he did literally leg it as fast as he probably could and broke every traffic law in getting there.... who knows!!

Spoilers for 24 - Season 4
Well, as a producer of a show, this is an explanation you can't expect every viewer to come up with by himself. I mean of course I could have imagined that, but when I compare this to he previous seasons, where everything needed the time it did (yes, even getting from A to B), I feel that the real-time factor has been neglected. They surely focussed on other cool stuff which I really like, like Jack slowly losing Audrey's love among others, but to me it is just a fact that the already mentioned real-time factor has been neglected by the makers of this season. They probably tried to include as much as possible and even more into it, so they had to make a few compromises as far as time is concderned.

I love OUATITW, the weekend I got the R1 DVD I watched the film 4 times. Paramount definately know how to create a top quality SE, shame they don't do it more often with non-Trek films.

I may rent the R2 SE, as the version I saw was on a rubbishy old VHS
One year some of the BBC's snooker coverage used one of tbe themes from OUATITW.

OK, I finished the fourth season of "24".
24 - Season 4 - 4/5
I think in the conversation with degen, I have pointed out enough what I didn't like about this season. But there is another thing...
I went through the deleted scenes on the special features disc and was shocked to see they have cut out a scene which shows Habib Marwan saying good-bye to his wife and son. It is such an awesome scene which shows us that this man is a himan being as well. I wish they had focussed a bit more on the Marwan-character. The role was wonderfully played by Arnold Vosloo (awesome actor) and in the 5-minutes good-bye scene he managed to give the character a lot of depth.
I played the deleted scene with the director's commentary and he says that this is his favourite deleted scene and how he was sorry that it got cut out. The reasons he gives for cutting them out don't seem like the actual reasons to me. He says that they already had enough family-factor with the Araz family. What kind of an excuse is that to cut out such a wonderful scene? We have had family stuff with a lot of characters in all seasons. They should have cut out some Chloe vs. Edgar-scene and put that Marwan scene in there instead. I believe they didn't want to show a US audience a scene which sympathises with a terrorist.
Oh, and good work they cut out that Muslim agent with a scarf. The director said they tried to introduce her character in a few scenes in order to bring her back for a bigger role in season 5. Thank God they didn't. Her scenes were so painful to look at. The person who informs Edgar Stiles about the one terrorist's girlfriend was originally supposed to be her. He harshly refuses her help and later they have this conversation... OH MY GOD WHAT AN IDIOTIC SCENE!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edgar: I'm sorry about before bla... bla... bla...
Muslim Agent: No, you're not! You did this because of this. (points to her scarf) You can't take the fact I'm Muslim and working here.
Edgar: No, honestly, I'm not prejudiced against anybody. It's just that I lost my mother today.
Muslim Agent: Oh, I'm so sorry Edgar. I know what this must feels like. I lost my brother in a terrorist attack in Riyadh!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh JEEEEEZ!!! How clichéd! Thank God these scenes are out!
