By whom?
The edited version started appearing AFAIK from circa 1993 when STAR TV obtained the rights to the Golden Harvest catalogue. Previous HK and JP LD releases were uncut. WHY the cuts?? I've no idea.

Aren't the other Bruce Lee films also?
Yeah, the ones Grim mentioned. But I singled out FIST because of it's impending release.

Well, let me answer this with another question. Why not?
Sorry, mate! I'm not allowed to reveal anything about the story.
The story is obvious..... it's all about how England "beat" West Germany by "scoring" a "goal" that never went over the line... and the subsequent quest of secret agent Nat Zee to prove the hush-hush conspiracy.

I rushed over to the HKL forums and was disappointed to find the missing capital in "Avon." Cheating is okay but cheating + fun is even better.
username would definitely be good, I don't mind using my real name but it feels odd on a silly MA DVD forum so I'd have to go for "Moaning Git" or something.

HKL are late (as usual :D ):
Seven Swords To Open In Venice 24/06/05

The martial arts epic 'Seven Swords' is set to open the Venice Film Festival. The film is widely heralded as marking a return to form for maverick Hong Kong movie-maker Tsui Hark, the genius behind the 'Once Upon A Time In China' series.

The film brings together two generations of movie martial arts mastery, with 'Iron Monkey' hero Donnie Yen cast alongside Shaw Brothers veteran Lau Kar-leung.
I've known for two weeks that Seven Swords has been pushed back. Tsui Hark won't be able to present it in the Venice festival.
Estimated French (and probably worldwide) theatrical release date: November 30th.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Does this mean HKL own the rights? The important point here!

just for you I'll correct it (one advantage over most forums) :D

I had to do the same over at DVD Answers.

LOL :D
England would still of beat W. Germany even if they hadnt scored that "goal" I'm sure ;) I think the story will be an assination plot (a la Shiri) or something.

Unlike most forums you can change it.

Just put Grim as your first name and Tales as your last!

:D OK - I didnt think of that.

Also its' worth noting that some of my comments were edited on HKL Forum, in the Drunken Master thread I pointed out the fact the Columbia/Mei Ah DVDs of SITES/DM have HD transfers, so decent materials/prints must exsist for these films, but that was edited by Scott (who is also on ADVDG).
LD are you not allowed to mention other companies or something? I cant understand why what I said was edited

Hey,

I found a Easter Egg on HKL's "Heart of the Dragon".
Go to Special Features, then Trailer Gallery, and highlight the HKL logo in the left hand corner. From there you can hear the ending theme song and see the outtakes from the Japanese laserdisc.

Jackie sings quite well in Japanese doesnt he? :D (IMO).

With regard to the eventual re-release of Drunken Master, if they're having problems locating an uncut Cantonese track, doesn't the laserdisc have it? They could use that, rights permitting

I havent seen the HKL forums yet, and it depends on how seriously they take our comments for me to get involved, as I dont want to have to say this is crap, thats wrong etc.. and they will never do anything, as the way I see it the dvds are made and they will never remake a dvd because of someone moaning comments, ever! from the look of it they rarley even take notice of peoples comments for future releases, so for me the HKL forum is not worth even posting on yet, until I see some progress and consultation with the people behind the dvds coming forward and saying the exact ressons why certain probs happened.

I still say get rid of appauling extra loooooooooong interviews with people, and acctually edit lots together to create a documentary! other dvds do it and its entertaining, watching the same person for 40 minutes gets mind numbing.

The French HK-Vidéo release has an uncut cantonese mono track.
Maybe HKL could try to contact TF1 to ask them how they found it. :)

For once Romero we're in complete agreement.

I have one thing to add to your comment. If you're constructive and right proper sentences (I know you struggle here :D ) then your posts will be published and probably read by the appropriate people; to stop it happening again.

Just visited the HKL forum, very slow so far and seeing real names is a little odd as I can guess who a few of them people are already. So far its too small to see anything of interest, maybe they need to advertise they have a forum?

The registration page asks for a first and last name. As I don't do that on the web I split my handle into two but many haven't thought of doing this I guess.
