did anyone have problem with cdwow, not shipping the item due to a problem with recieving a shipment from the supplier? i ordered the butterfly effect 2 weeks ago and still they havent got their shipment yet...they'ev eoffered that i cancel the order and ge a full refund, but i used the £5 voucher, and i wondered if they would refund the £7:99 or just the £2:99 that i paid after using the voucher?

They'll refund you the £2.99 Shen as that's what you paid.
I know that much for sure (it's happened to me but with £2 voucher combos so I didn't care). If you really want a refund I'd e-mail them and explain they'll more than likely send you a new £5 voucher code.

I assume you meant "wouldn't"?
As for this new news I've heard this sort of weird CD WOW stuff before but oddly not all of it happens to me. I'll wait and see what happens.
LOL you're right though at complaining about the footie vouchers.

i can wait it out a little longer, i mean im in no desperate hurry for the dvd, but if it takes too much longer i'll consider getting a refund definatley, thanks brad

I ordered a German DVD a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet.

yeah the burtterfly effect was the german cd mark, maybe they are having trouble with the shipments from germany.
i just got fed up of waiting and e-mailed them about it, but if its not their fault, i can wait..

And I thought the Germans were supposed to be efficient!

It did take me a few weeks to get the German DVD of The Frighteners so I'm not too worried just yet.

I dont worry too much about stock at cdwow as I always have something to watch while I wait, but they can take some time to get rarer dvds from some countries esspecially european places like France and Germany

but in the end they ussually get em.
and yes I meant wouldn't

I keep tyring would all the time, its odd as I do it every single time.

also maybe the world cup euphoria is causing some problems? dunno but it could be
i had a similar problem ordering wheels on meals they had problems then with shipments. but it only took just over a week to get it

The amount of contries CDWOW gets its dvds from it has to be struck with stock problems once in a while, they pretty much get dvds from every contry in the world, and cheap ussually too

so I dont mind them, others sadly hate them for the stock shortage reasons.

yeah they are very cheap, i dont mind waiting, and their customer service is great! you e-mail them and they reply very quickly. unlike some stores you can wait days for a reply..
and again the yare very cheap

CD-Wow got a lot of orders for that title and ended up with a backlog lasting weeks on end. It was supposed to be first come first served but I doubt it quite worked out that way.

Surely a UK, USA or Australian version is coming soon?
Yi-Long wrote:Wow... without vouchers I wouldnt even be ordering from CD-wow, so what do they care where I got them?
Ah well, just fill in some bogus website adress or whatever...
www.noneofurbizznizz.cu.uk
That's a bit silly as they're still often cheaper or cheap at least. I'd still use them but it wouldn't be as often.

Bummer, looks like an end of an era regarding these bargains.
bradavon wrote:Surely a UK, USA or Australian version is coming soon?
They're all already out Brad, the R2 & R4 Frighteners are 3-discers featuring the Extended cut (which Universal are incorrectly calling a "DC") with a DTS track. The R1 has the R2/4 3-discer content on one DVD-18 minus the DTS track.
Why everyone wanted the German 4-discer is becuz it featured a new transfer of the uncut theatrical cut (Jackson's DC). All the other releases are missing the TC and the old R2/4 barebones releases of the TC are all cut (by the BBFC no less), leaving only the old R1 barebones uncut.

You'll all no doubt be thrilled to know that I got my German DVD this morning.
The outer cardboard packaging was damaged (the Post Office aplogised) but thankfully the actual case and disc were not (wasn't even a rattler - phew!)

Good for you Mark, now enjoy the movie, actually I have just finished watching the TC and was impressed, didn't like the movie when it first came out, but now watching it, it is very good. Watching the director cut later

It wasn't The Frighteners I got this morning. I got that around Xmastime when it first came out. I got the German DVD of Scream - Dir's Cut this morning for which I used my £5 voucher. Sorry for the crossed wires.
The Frighteners is great fun.

Ahh I have the japanese version of Scream, brought it ages ago. What the quality like on the german release?
Posted: 06 Jul 2006, 18:05

Looked good to me - better than the Japanese release IIRC.
I'm sure there's a screen cap comp somewhere on-line.

So the German DVD of Scream is definitely the DC? Is it anamorphic with some of the extras/all of them?
EvaUnit02 wrote:Bummer, looks like an end of an era regarding these bargains.
I wouldn't say that "just" yet. I placed two orders last night both box sets and both £2 off I've not been asked yet and I don't reckon I will be but we'll see.
Thanks for the Frighteners info Eva.

How do you get £2 off?
