I'd have to go back and check my VCD, but seems like I remember the character Kwan wearing a gaudy yellow jacket like the one in the grab. Maybe not, though. We'll see.

If it isn't Kwan from Once Upon a Time, it's got to be him from Y&D, like Yi guessed. Since I never saw Y&D 2 or Y&D 3, I can't say if it's one of those, or if Kwan was even in those films. (Hmm, I guess writing that just now constitutes a 2nd and 3rd guess, though.

What's OUATIATB? "Once Upon a Time in a Triad Bureau"?

Mark's finally found an entry in Francis Ng's and Shu Qi's filmography that matches. Congrats. One of 8000 HK movies with that English title.

To explain a little, the first cap is indeed Ugly Kwan but the plot of this film surrounds Dayo Wong playing a director obviously modelled after Wong Kar-wai and he gets transferred back in time to the 60s. Not allowed to go back until he made some good films, he meets the likes of Patrick Tse (Francis), Kwan Tak-Hing (Wong Yat-Fei) and little Wong Jing. You'll get more out of it knowing about this past cinema but there are some amusing references here, including Patrick Tse of the past playing modern day roles such as the Ugly Kwan role. Francis Ng imitating Patrick Tse playing Ng's role. Get that, kidz?

Wong Yat-Fei is also fun, portraying Kwan Tak-Hing as someone not at all far removed from his famous role...

I call the choice of grab a clever deception.
