It's amazing for documentaries but movies? I'm not so sure.

How so? I saw Beauty And The Beast in the Imax. Greatest cinema experience I ever had - never mind the fact it's my favourite film!

What are you going on about Brad? IMAX is just a different film format that' a higher resolution than standard film, usually shown at high-quality display specifications. 35mm converted to IMAX usually looks absolutely fantastic! Christ, at least go and watch a feature film on IMAX before you post naysaying the medium!

IMAX is all about literally in your face cinema. That doesn't work for everything. Even when it does I'm not a massive fan.

I remember getting wood after seeing my first 3D IMAX feature.

What film did you go see then? Nothing wrong with in-your-face cinema, but the only reason have the idea that that's what IMAX is around to show is because that's all that has been shown in the format so far, mostly so they can draw the crowds in. My point is there's nothing intrinsically wrong with the format.

Fantasia 2000. I should probably see something else but to me 2D cinema works perfectly as it is.

Some 5.1 remixes from Stereo sources work very well but many just add more speakers. It worked perfectly fine in Stereo to start with. This is especially true for albums remixed into 5.1.

Even low key dramas work on a colossal screen.

Just as long as they aren't showing a standard 35mm print on an IMAX screen, those just look like shit when blown up.

Have they actually done that?

I cannot imagine a low key drama would work on an IMAX screen. Not at all.

I aint even seen one IMAX film yet nor 3D as up here in the North East we have no such cinemas. at all!


a Low Key drama would work on any screen, the better the quality of image, the more you will get from it is how I see it.
